Watched season 2 episodes 2 & 3, very nice and lively!
First off, Hiiiii Vex :] (he has grown on me exponentially, and I genuinely think he's my favorite character in 3below)
Okay now seriously, I liked Vex getting his vengeance while also giving him more information on how his betrayal was nothing but a ploy from the same enemy who indirectly killed his family.
I like the look of regret he has when he kneels infront of the heirs, and I like how it was specifically Krel who puts a hand on his shoulder and smiles.
Aja may have been his student, but Krel was the one that actually had to work through the betrayal and come to terms with the fact he still cares about Vex.
(This is not discrediting Aja, she went through the betrayal too, but she is just so heartbreakingly empathetic. I'm sure her 'quick forgiveness' was seen as betrayal to Krel originally, but i'm glad the little family of 3 is back together.)
Going to Zandra, I like how she doesn't forgive him. It was basically not addressed at all in episode 3, but I really hope they continue this plot. I'd love for it to take several more episodes for her to come to terms with the fact Vex feels genuine remorse.
Speaking of episode 3, it was. Okay.
I liked Pepperjack having his moment, and how the people of Akiridian-5 reacted to it. The kneeling from and for everyone was a nice touch.
This episode did feel a lot like 'The Reckless Club' from trollhunters, though.
It felt like a lighthearted episode (all things considered), with the royals surrounded by friends and family. It felt like a single victory that lets them catch their breath. It feels like the beginning of the end.
I hope there's another lighthearted episode in 3below, but I think in my heart I know this is likely all there will be for the rest of the series.
(Pros and cons of short shows, and all that jazz.)
Still, I had fun watching these two episodes. I hope the season stays as interesting as it is right now
