The research facility is almost like a zoo/aquarium, it is open to tours from the public
While the majority of the animals contained there are normal animals being taken care of and researched humanely, Wren and Zander are the two exceptions, with Wren being the newest addition
The research facility was opened by and is still run by the Whitaker family, with Cain having taken over from his father
Nicholas is one of the lead researchers at the facility, and he’s put in charge of their more humanoid creatures (Wren and Zander. It does not matter that they are biologically vastly different. He gets to fuck with them the most)
Through tests and experimentation, Zander has been prevented from returning to a fully human form. He is noticeably more wolf like, ears and tail aside, increased body hair, the shape of his hands and feet, fangs and sharp claws. He still shifts into a full werewolf form during full moons, but this is the state he will always return to.
Wren also has sharp teeth and claws. He is known to be difficult to handle, even more so than Zander in some ways.
The scales from Wren’s tail are periodically taken in small quantities. They grow back relatively quickly but it’s an excruciating process for Wren. He is unaware of this but they’re being sold at high prices to interested collectors.
