1. When was the last time you tried something new?
A few weeks ago I went to Tutti Frutti and had their frozen yogurt for the first time. Best. Decision. Ever. I am now addicted. :)
2. If you had all the money in the world but still had to have some kind of job, what would you choose to do?
Writer. If not a writer, I like the idea of having a little place up in the mountains somewhere where I'd have loads of books and bake things and make tea, and if people found me they could come in and read and drink and eat cake and cookies, but ONLY if they could find me.
3.Ā If you could have the ability to manipulate matter or energy, which would you choose?
Oooohhh...OK, I think there is a grey area here, and I intend to exploit it. If you were heating up water, say, would that be manipulating matter or energy? Because you would be changing the matter itself, yes, but you'd more precisely be changing the amount of energy at a particulate level, and a similar argument could be made for changing the state of matter (solid to liquid, etc.). If pressed, I'd probably choose matter, because then in theory you might be able to change the chemical structure of things (ALCHEMY IS SUDDENLY A THING AGAIN!), maybe affect people's brain chemistry. And maybe get the remote to come to you without getting up, too.
4. Favourite genre to read? (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, ect.)
Fantasy. Especially well written urban fantasy.
5. What was the last thing you read? Was it any good? (Yes, subtitles in a movie/TV show/video game count)
Last actual book I read was Stephen Leacock'sĀ Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town for my Canadian Lit class. Eh, it was OK I guess. Didn't live up to the endorsements on the back. ("Canada's answer to Mark Twain and Charles Dickens" my ass) The next book I'm reading for school is one I KNOW is awesome though because I've written about it before.Ā Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby by Allyson Beatrice. If you're in a fandom, love the internet, or like Joss Whedon or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, READ IT. I nearly peed myself I laughed so hard the first time I read it.
6. Have you ever thought something then realized you said it outloud?Ā
No, actually. I talk to myself a lot, but I'm usually aware of the fact that I'm speaking aloud. I don't knowĀ why I say things aloud a lot of the time, but I do know that I am saying it.
7. Can you remember your dreams? Whatās the last thing you dreamed about?
I remember all my dreams, though they sometimes fade. Last dream I had was kind of strange. A couple of girls I went to elementary school with and haven't seen since were in my basement dicking around with some shelves that were hanging on the wall by one nail, and I kept saying that they should leave it alone and just pick a movie because they're going to fall on you, but they ignored me. They just kept making the shelves swing and swing and I got soĀ frustrated about it and them not listening to me that I screamed and left. I shut myself in my room and just stood there crying and hugging myself. After a minute my best friend came in to see if I was OK. I was not. But I couldn't tell him I was pregnant and the whole dream fell apart as I stood there in a mess crying like mad. Odd, but not particularly odd for me. There were no hippo-sized rabbits or Annie telling me I had let her die, for one.
Dogs. Half the family's allergic to cats, and I understand dogs better.
Jam, though I like it really smooth because I get seeds stuck in my teeth if there areĀ any, so in theory I should like jellies best, but I don't.
10. Your favourite place?
I feel like I should say my house, because I never leave it if I can help it. I feel like I should say my favourite bookstore even though I only get to go there once a year, because it introduced me to all my favourite books and taught me to reallyĀ read. And I've never been there, but London is my favourite place. Intellectually, I was formed by people from London, books set there, books written there, books inspired by the city and England. Here's hoping it's still my favourite place once I've actually been there.
