In this AU, all beings that enter the human world from another are fey, but it's beings from a specific world who have this whole familiar arrangement. The familiars get paid in mana, the mages get labor. Familiars have a true form, but it's not made of, like, idk "matter" so it's not perceptible with a human eye and can't actually take shape in the human world. Which saves me the trouble of designing it :) I'm so clever!!

Something I wanted to include in this discussion was really just this photo
Cuz as we know, this is the one where they were able to find the recipe, and also a photo that Lu Guang had apparently been staring into for a long time before declaring the case a lost cause. Which has always seemed kinda strange to me, especially considering that this was the only photo (that they were aware of at the time) where cxs would possess Lin Zhen instead... so you'll have cxs rooting through the fridge and inventories and whatnot but don't even want to try going through the one who actually knows the recipe's phone or apartment or something?
I've seen the idea floating around that maybe Lu Guang repeats stuff in order to aid in Cheng Xiaoshi's character development (or however you'd word that lol), which I do think could potentially be the case (and will probably be a pretty big deal when it comes to our next mission...). As we know, he has let some things play out the exact same as it has even though his knowledge could have sped up the progress, so it's not too crazy to imagine him fabricating a helpless moment so that Cheng Xiaoshi can find a little glimmer of hope in the situation and beat the odds
BUT if that is all true, then I kinda want to know the story behind this picture
Seeing as this one is easily the most helpful photo... is this something they had missed previously that lg let slip through the cracks again in order to give cxs that moment? Or is it possible he hid this photo intentionally to give cxs that moment? Or maybe he didn't even know about this picture bc it was omitted/he missed it last time?
cxs ends up using this photo to get more noodles too, is that the same? Is this the same?
I mean, nothing really important or life-changing happens in this dive anyways (unless you wanna talk about the intelligent management thing I suppose?) so it also wouldn't be too crazy for lg to have secretly allowed cxs to dive in and just pretended to be surprised. Buuuut of course it's also just fun to imagine that cxs is always keeping lg on his toes when it comes to silly little moments like this :3

hi hello kavi the honest answer is I have. a lot of vibes. it's supposed to be for the march challenge. which I am not doing anymore (but will complete the fic separately later). basically the idea given the prompt is like. lin zhen and yu xia at four(?) places that defined their relationship. I think my plan was their dorm room, the noodle shop when it first opened, the noodle shop After yu xia went a little. gestures. yeah. and then the shop lin zhen set up after leaving. yeah <3 one fun little line in my head though:

She's saying all the wrong things, and she can't help it, because she's always felt anger and hurt dialed up to a hundred—never taught to dial it down. It's thick in her throat, the betrayal.
ooh boy. yes it means yuutamaki!! I opened the doc last night for the jjk rarepair fest and then passed out lol. essentially: link click au, maki as the guidance and yuuta as the one who dives back, but it's also yuuta who's trying to save her. it felt like that made the most sense to me that way given their personalities; yuuta and his rage when geto hurt maki, inumaki, and panda, etc.
technically the perfect preparation arc (where maki went haywire) and the culling games arc should dictate that maki be the one doing so, but the mental image of maki planning murder on sukuna for the equivalent of "you look tasty" while yuuta flails between utter confusion and insane rage and bloodlust was too funny to pass up really. yeah I make such great narrative choices. this will go so well.
I love s1e2 because it's the only episode that completely stands alone with no connections to other episodes or the larger plot but I also believe that it contains some of the most important themetic elements for the entire show. Like this line here which hits differently with the context of s2e12.
