KUSH AND PARADISE - 95 - @REAL_YOUNGRELL x @MANN_WELLS - This is the 4th day of coverage for Young Rell's newest mixtape Paradise. We are continuing to highlight this piece of work because its something dope and motivating the people need to hear. The song today we cover is called "95," personally one of my favorite off the mixtape. It sort of has that Dom Kennedy "1997" kind of feel, but it in a southern way. With producer Man Wells producing and rapping on the song as well, it gave it just a high impact feel the whole time. Check out what Rello had to say about this song.
Young Rell - "95' was a song Mann was working on for his next project T.hank G.od I.ts F.resh 2. He played it for me during one of my sessions just to get my opinion on it and at the time it was just a hook and one verse. As it was playing he could tell I was fuckin with it heavy, the track just commanded my attention. After seeing that, he asked me to hop on it and he would send it to me later. I came up with the verse before he ever sent the instrumental. I rapped the verse over the phone for him and his reply was let's split the 3rd one. We bounced ideas around and played off each others lyrics on the last verse. It was like we were having a conversation with each other, dope concept. We recorded it a few days later and it was just meant to happen. It turned out so well that Mann said this has to go on Paradise. The hooks meaning comes from Mann remembering the gear he had as a kid and riding around in his Dads 95' Lexus ES 300 at that time." - Young Rell
Stand out Lines - "Rollin up that sticky green, we call it a cactus"
"I'm LT cuz I hopped on a jet when I got out that Charger"
"When she see me in them Jordan 5's that can make wine, the Grapes!!"
"I don't do business sideways like shoe strings on them Rodmans" Mann Wells
