lunar knows potion making. lunar canonically is experimenting on a WYVERN. lunar states herself to be an alchemist. im unsure if she brought it to life or if she found it, but im assuming, since no one else has one and she doesn't let gold and funneh tell anyone about it, she brought it to life.

even with magic, necromancy is generally considered very advanced—taboo even, which means lunar has forbidden magic and is advanced enough in it to know how to use it and actually succeed without hurting herself or anyone else.

if we operate on scientific logic, necromancy has two specific criterion to bring something to life: a biological body and a soul. a soul is less tangible and can't really be explained without a massive reach, but a biological body??? lunar has to have found a way to create biological material that can house a soul either online, through books, or by herself—and then succeeded in making the body of a wyvern and housing a soul. that is an incredible feat.

BUT THATS NOT THE HARDEST PART. the hardest part is figuring out how a wyvern functions. she has to have mapped out the body, the organs, how the cells work, how its immune system would function, its digestive tract, the muscle groups, wing to body ratio, bone shapes and density, AND how its brain functions. if even one fails, the thing basically collapses and she would have to start over. AND WYVERNS DON'T HAVE ANY LIVING RELATIVES. its not like lunar could just pull up to a zoo, take notes on a dinosaur, and then go back home to work on her wyvern. she had to have made this with the framework of already existing animals (birds, flying squirrels, etc.), accounted for the mass and size difference, scaled it up in the correct ratio, AND accounted for the fact that wyverns are scaled creatures and not made of feathers.

for alchemy, with the law of equivalent exchange, she has to have sacrificed a great deal to even out the score of a fucking WYVERN. and she hasn't sustained any injuries, and while she doesn't talk about her parents its unlikely she used them for the exchange, making her theoretically very pragmatic and much smarter than most alchemists. the cost of a life is very, very expensive in alchemy—let alone something as important and theoretical as a wyvern.

ALL THIS. AND SHE'S A FUCKING TEENAGER. SHE'S BETWEEN 16 TO 19 AND ACHIEVED THIS.
