˙ . ꒷ 🔪 . ࣪ ִֶָ☾. — I'm gonna be honest, I don't really expect anything right now other than my "Mastermind Yuma" theory. If I had to guess though, I think the biggest subversion of expectation would be Yuma, or Kendra/Kendrick, killing (or attempting to kill) Mika.
I don't have a proper basis for why I think this could happen, but I can actually see it happening, especially if it's Kendrick. Again, Ginko's teddy bear wasn't burned in the fire after the fight—or if it was, it wasn't shown (which is a large criticism I'd make)—so there's a very real chance that Mika or Kendrick could think that the other killed Ginko and Yuri.
That said, there hasn't been any set up for a plot twist, at least none that isn't related to Yuma. There's also the chance that Yuma could manipulate Mika into thinking Kendrick killed Ginko and Yuri, which could drive Mika to kill Kendrick, especially if Yuma lies and says Kendrick was involved in Akina's death. Kendrick was the one who went outside first to find Kirb and Akina, followed by Yuma, and no one other than Kirb can vouch that Kendrick did not kill Akina.
All signs point to Yuma right now, which can go any which way. We could have Yandere!Yuma, where Yuma wants Kirb to herself (which I can't really support with what we've found), Betrayer!Yuma where Yuma outs Kirb for her own gain, and Mastermind!Yuma, who could potentially manipulate Kendrick and Mika into killing each other, since Yuma hates Mika just as much as she hated the rest of their clique.

an alternate universe wherein there is no yandere and michelle has a crush on the prince of the school.
prince is a social person. but that does not mean he enjoys being poked, prodded, and treated like a commodity. when prince met michelle, he wanted nothing to do with another fan girl.
their first meeting was hardly a good start, especially with prince accidentally shoving her to the ground and then running away from her in a panic. in his defense, felicia just spent like 40 straight minutes sexually harrassing him, he didn't wanna be anywhere near a girl.
but then prince met her again at the library, where she helped him locate a book he needed for class and... didn't try to follow him around and bother him.
prince enjoyed it. the ability to exist like he was normal. prince spent most of his life being treated like a pawn, a way to charm people's spoiled daughters into making business with his family, being able to exist next to someone as a person and not as a political piece felt... peaceful. comforting, even.
eventually, prince learns her name is michelle and she wants to be popular. prince wonders what could popularity and fame possibly offer her, when all it's done for prince is take away his autonomy.
he starts falling for michelle—or at least, the thought of her. he enjoys watching her read, to keep to herself and stay away from crowds. he wonders what her life is like. if its half as suffocating as his, if it's the freedom he so desperately craves.
the first time they actually talk, prince finds that michelle is a charming girl. opinionated, for sure, but charming and kind.
they end up spending hours together in the library, hiding away from prince's fan girls. its a wonderful, peaceful thing. something that is uniquely prince's and hers.
and then it rots.
one day, prince finds felicia and brittney where michelle and him usually stay, and felicia says michelle told her he liked hiding away in the library.
prince feels a deepseated betrayal at that. how could she? something so sacred, so uniquely theirs, ruined by michelle's want for fame and popularity.
in the end, that's what fame does to humanity, isn't it? it corrupts the good.
prince should've seen it coming, and yet. he didn't. he thought he'd found a girl who understood him, who cared for him, who could hide him from the world—even for a little bit. he thought she'd be different. she always seemed like it.
prince avoids michelle afterwards, snapping at her when she tries to talk to him afterward.

michelle doesn't know about felicia sexually harrassing prince. when she finds out about it, she feels horrible for hurting prince, even if she did it unknowingly.
prince can't keep his hate together, even after being betrayed. it dissolves like fairy floss in water. after all, michelle was the first person to treat him with genuine kindness—the first person to treat him as human. is it worth it to throw that away when he has no one else?
prince doesn't forgive michelle for what she did, he can't, not when it hurt him so deeply. michelle knows that, and she accepts her fault.
they eventually make up and find another place to hide from the girls, and its nice. comforting.
michelle likes reading slice of life novels, prince likes reading fantasy novels. they'll spend hours together reading, even if it isn't their favorite activity, it's the most comforting one for them.
michelle stops trying to become part of felicia's clique after finding out what she did to prince, which prince enjoys.
socially, they don't really know each other—prince tries to keep his fangirls away from her because he doesn't want them to bother her.
prince wants to elope with michelle and run away together eventually. his crush on her eventually became love when she chose him over fame.

FOXTAILS IN MINETALES
an alternate universe wherein evelyn is hunting three little foxes and a bear that has been causing annoyance to the locals.
(if you remember this au, you're peak ily lmao)
when evelyn heard there were 3 foxes and a bear working together to steal the local village's food, she thought they were insane.
evelyn is a hunter from the city, coming to a remote village near the forest for a vacation. she planned on taking it easy, but after watching the town get terrorized by a bear and three foxes, she decides to take up the mantle the last hunter left them.
going into the forest was honestly a terrible idea, evelyn got lost in seconds. doing it alone meant a higher chance of getting caught off guard, too. but it was 6 in the morning, no one wanted to help hunt.
but eventually, evelyn managed to make it to where the foxes and bear stayed. a cozy little—obsidian?... house?
you'd think 3 foxes lived in a burrow and the bear would live in a den, but this is just a full fledged house. it even has a fireplace.
evelyn gets knocked out cold while trying to find a way in.
she wakes up tied up and to a girl with blue hair sniffing her. i mean. she's cute, but why is she sniffing her. this is very weird.
in the corner of Evelyn's eye, she notices a fox tail. and then she notices the cute fox ears on the side of the girl's head.
evelyn short circuits.
the foxes are fox spirits??? shape shifters???
the fox girl calls down her sisters to help her figure out what to do with evelyn. a pink haired fox and a brown haired fox discuss with her as an entire bear lays on the floor not too far, snoring away.
the fox girls seem to decide that they'll just put evelyn back outside before the blue haired girl interjects and says she could come back with more humans and try to hurt them, so they decide to keep evelyn in the house.
the three of them try and figure out what humans eat and offer her some fresh meat, which evelyn recoils from. the blue haired girl introduces herself with english, instead of the language the foxes speak, as funneh—the brown one being gold, the second eldest, and the pink one being rainbow, the youngest. they're sisters.
evelyn introduces herself as evelyn and asks to be freed, promising not to hurt them in return. the three girls hesitate but eventually relent because they're curious what the human will do.
evelyn decides to cook the meat in the fire place while she decides what to do. the fox girls don't seem hostile, but the bear is kind of concerning. when the food finally cooks, evelyn eats it and glances over at the blue haired fox girl, who let the other foxes go home.
evelyn decides to ask why they raided the village and funneh explains that the villagers raided the bear's home first and they were just taking back the food. the bear is a silly man and doesn't really know how to make a house, and so its very easy to steal from him. but it's unfair for people to steal from others.
evelyn promises to explain the situation to the humans for them and make sure the villagers don't steal again. funneh says theyre okay with sharing, they just have to ask first instead of taking.
funneh's tail keeps swishing back and forth as they talk and evelyn really wants to pet a fox. it was one of the reasons evelyn came here, foxes were rare little things and even rarer as friendly.
evelyn asks if she can pet her and funneh reluctantly agrees, but says evelyn can only pet her ears and head. a fox's tail is not something to play with.
within minutes, evelyn has an adorable fox girl snuggled up to her and trying to get more scritches behind her ears.
when evelyn stops, funneh huffs at her and skulks away sulking.
after explaining everything to the villagers, the humans, bear, and foxes live in harmony, sharing food for the hungry and giving the foxes scritches when they're extra good and helping with rebuilding the houses the villagers live in.
evelyn eventually has to leave and funneh huffs and puffs about it the entire time until evelyn promises to come back when she has another vacation.
when evelyn comes back, the village has upgraded a lot, and its a lot cheaper too. funneh very nearly jumps her because of how excited she is.

funneh loves scritches, especially behind the ear. no one can touch her tail but evelyn though.
funneh can turn into a fox at will, but prefers her human form because the villagers say its cute and "sure to charm evelyn." (they all know about her crush on evelyn)
evelyn loves visiting the village, often helping people and helping the community—along with giving funneh scritches of course.
funneh gets really irritated with rainbow and gold if evelyn gives them scritches before funneh gets them. she's very possessive.
evelyn occasionally helps funneh hunt food in the forest, and evelyn has to be really fucking careful about not accidentally shooting the little fox with her gun.
funneh hates evelyn's gun, so evelyn has resorted to using bows because they hurt funneh's ears less.
funneh occasionally uses her tail to brush things behind her. evelyn always thinks its a game where funneh wants her to catch her tail. and then evelyn has to sleep on the couch for grabbing funneh's tail.
funneh love love loves building houses. unfortunately she tries to keep building obsidian houses and evelyn gets a heart attack every time another obsidian house is erected in town. i mean its nice, it always looks nice, but christ.
evelyn wants to bring funneh to the big city, but worries about someone thinking funneh is an abomination. and then evelyn remembers furries exist.

also if you're wondering why rainbow is the youngest, it's canon in minetales that rainbow is the youngest sister (at least in the big bad bear or whatever).

funneh, rainbow, and gold meet up with evan and kyran at the sushi place and greet each other. kyran asks about rainbow, and rainbow introduces herself--having recently moved into the nearby neighborhood with funneh, lunar, and gold. gold decides to get them sat down and after squishing into a booth together, orders a bit of food.
funneh explains that theres something she and gold need to tell kyran and evan, which is why they called, other than wanting to hang out with them. kyran tells them to go on and gold explains she's pretty sure they've been mistaking funneh and herself for other people. gold says that they're new in town and they haven't lived here before---whoever the funneh and gold kyran and evan knew are gone.
evan asks if this is some sort of elaborate joke and funneh admits she's not lying and shows evan a picture of herself and gold a year before at some remote island. funneh tells him and kyran that they didi some digging and found out that the people they knew are probably in canada right now and dropped out.
funneh says she only found out because alec told her that other funneh was his girlfriend and rainbow interjects saying lunar said they broke up like. today. funneh is surprised and evan immediately starts trying to get gossip out of her. funneh asks evan how he knows other funneh and evan admits they were friends, and he was kind of into her. she never properly confirmed to him if she was taken or in a situationship though.
kyran decides to introduce himself properly to them and apologizes for not realizing sooner. rainbow decides to ask how well kyran knew them and kyran says he and the girls were very close friends, and he let them stay in his dorm during their first year after their stuff got REPOed. he knew there was something weird going on since they kind of stopped inviting him places but simply assumed that they were still reeling from what happened the other day.
kyran awkwardly admits that it's kind of weird talking to rainbow because she looks so much like a late friend of his named Valerie Maki. she died in a dorm fire in their first year, and they were really shaken up because they were camping and they 'hallucinated' what valerie's dorm fire looked like from the inside.
funneh asks if he knows anything else about valerie, like who her killer is or something, and kyran admits he was told that it was Kai's best friend, James, who killed valerie but he doesn't believe it and theres a private investigation going on about valerie's death.
evan asks how and why the group is interested in the murders and gold tells him that one of their friends is a sort of psychic, and felt the unrest of a lot of ghosts. funneh clarifies and says they want to help put the ghosts to rest so they can rest in peace, and thats why they're asking about the dead girls.
kyran admits he doesn't know a lot about the rest of the dead girls, but he does know other funneh and other gold were close friends with valerie. rainbow asks about kai and why kyran brings him up and kyran explains that valerie is his late girlfriend. funneh comments that it must've been why kai grabbed her out of nowhere during their first day.
kyran also mentions he isn't sure why james was convicted because kai and james were really close friends, and james' girlfriend---olivia paisley---committed suicide early into the first year, so the motive there is murky at best.
their food arrives and they decide to shelve the conversation for now. funneh apologizes to evan for the topic being so grim and dark and evan assures her it's okay and he doesn't mind, after all, they're trying to lay the ghosts to rest. that's an admirable cause. evan says he doesn't have much input on the girls since he didn't know most of them that well, but he was friends with one of olivia's friends and he was told that there was no way that olivia committed suicide because she loved her life, as bad as it was.
her friends tried to push for an actual case to be opened because she was looking for a locket her boyfriend gave her before she died and she sent two girls to find it, they never found out who the girls were, and she died the day the girls were supposed to give her locket back---james found the locket buried in the forest near the old dormitories.
olivia's case was never opened due to lack of evidence and ruled a suicide which evan calls bullshit on, stating that he honestly believed the girls killed her for being a shitty person and lying to them, and then buried the locket.
regardless, evan asks them if it'd be okay for them to put olivia and valerie on the priority list of who to lay to rest. he still cares for olivia, even if she was kind of a shit friend, and he wishes she got the justice she deserved. funneh promises they'll try their best.
okay sue me, im making shit up now. evans now more involved with olivia. technically she's just a friend of a friend to him, but i want this series to be a full circle. i don't wanna have evan too far outside of the circle because then he's just a romance device and doesn't have any actual ties to the story, which honestly weakens what i want to say.

an alternate universe wherein valerie, a popstar with hundreds of fans and haters, hires agents to protect her. gold and valerie are in their 20s.
if you asked valerie what her type would be, she would've said she liked traditional japanese men who were soft spoken and quiet, with black hair and dark eyes. tall, dark and handsome, as they say.
but that's before she met her body guard, almost entirely opposite to her type. a gorgeous shorter brunette woman with light eyes who enjoys bantering with her.
if you asked valerie why she fell for a girl like that, she'd swear up and down that you'd fall in love with her too. and she's right. especially when you watch that woman manhandle people twice her size, or when she pulls you out of the way of a bullet, or when—
point is, valerie is in love with her. the problem? its incredibly embarrassing to admit she's into her because valerie told gold she was straight. STRAIGHT. VALERIE ISN'T EVEN STRAIGHT, SHE'S BISEXUAL.
and worst of all, gold has only shown interest in men...

valerie overheard funneh (one of her other bodyguards when gold is off duty) talking to someone else on the phone about Gold's crush on valerie
while it is kind of shitty to find out about it through someone outing gold accidentally, valerie isn't too worried about it and decides to hint to gold that she likes girls.
unfortunately, the hints are hitting but only the part where valerie is talking about being bisexual, not the part where valerie is into her specifically.
valerie tries to deploy a better tactic: kissing her on the cheek! surely that will— will-... no, no nevermind. gold just thinks it's platonic.

gold is absolutely oblivious during the first half of valerie hitting on her. like actually deeply in denial of it because gold thinks valerie is straight. it isn't until draco finally points out that valerie has been making heart eyes at gold and becoming increasingly distraught every time gold ignores her advances that gold realizes.
their dates are largely just them snuggling into bed and talking about things that have happened in their lives, Gold's missions, Valerie's meet and greets, etc.
gold loves working as an agent and valerie will occasionally worry over Gold's safety and health whenever she's assigned a dangerous mission. valerie tried asking gold to quit, but it just ended in an argument and valerie cried for an entire week.
gold loves doing Valerie's makeup, of course, valerie can't go out with the makeup since her makeup artist would kill her for cheating on her, but still. its a nice activity they do when they dont have anything else.
valerie and funneh became fast friends and often play silly pranks on gold, like switching the sugar and the salt, moving things ever so slightly to the left, and occasionally trying to give gold a heart attack by pretending valerie dyed her hair (funneh is surprisingly good at making the seam of the wig disappear.)
valerie likes the couch more than her bed and will occasionally sleep on it for a night. willingly. it is very scary seeing gold and valerie's personal doctor standing over her in the morning though.
valerie is a silver jewelry person, which irritates gold a little because they can't wear each others jewelry.
gold has her entire arm tattooed in gorgeous heart shaped patterns. sometimes valerie gets to color it in with sharpies. sometimes gold forgets to wipe off the sharpies and funneh will laugh at her for a minute straight for her entire arm being yellow and pink before getting throttled.
sorry this took so long ive been having a stomach bug and its been rough. also i generally don't write gold x valerie content, idk why i don't do that more often. its an ok ship.
