Some yellowfoot mushrooms (also known as winter mushrooms or funnel chanterelles) I collected with my roommate, two of them split in an interesting way that allowed me to stand them up and the one on the left had three stalks growing out of one cap. Thought they looked like a group of friends going for a stroll. Happy mushroom monday to everyone!

The funnel chanterelles I picked after one night of drying, two thirds of their size is gone! It just so fun when you leave there is relatively small to medium mushrooms and when you see them the next morning they are minuscule.

Our Christmas eve hike turned out to be more fruitful than I expected. 🥶 Mushrooms never cease to amaze me. “Winter chanterelle” and “yellowfoot chanterelle” are both very appropriate common names for these Craterellus tubaeformis. We found enough of these to make a pot of soup. We also found some golden chanterelles and a bunch of good bellybutton hedgehogs.
