”W dwu miejscach Słowiańszczyzny połabskiej - w pomorskiej Wołogoszczy (Wolgast) i w Obli (Havelberg) - grodzie nadłabskiego plemienia Brzeżan, zażywało czci bóstwo nazywane Jarowitem (w zapisach niemieckiego pochodzenia Gerovit, Herovith). (…) W odwiedzonej wcześniej Obli biskup Otto trafił na uroczystości ku czci Jarowita, odprawiane tłumnie z chorągwiami; data, około 10 maja, wskazuje na jedno ze świąt wiosennych kalendarza kultowego.”

“A deity named Yarovit (in german writings rendered Gerovit, Herovith) enjoyed worship in two regions of Polabian Slavdom — in pomeranian Volgast (Hologost) and in Havelberg, a town belonging to the tribe of Brizanie living by the river Elbe. (…) During his visit in Havelberg bishop Otto encountered a festival devoted to Yarovit, carried out by great crowds bearing standards; the date, roughly estimated as 10th of May points to it being one of the spring celebrations of local devotional calendar.”
