TW:// S*icidal Ideation (idk if tumblr is gonna flag it)
The thing about being autistic—and the grief that comes with a late diagnosis—is that I am always dealing with SI. It’s on my mind all the time. Some days it’s quiet. Some days it’s all that I think about until the day ends. The world doesn’t help. I am 26, I have two degrees, but can’t find an actual job (don’t ask me how many applications I’ve sent out at this point) so I am struggling to make ends meet by working two jobs just to survive and I don’t even have health insurance. I was actively dealing with SI today, but I took my bike out for the first time this season after years of it being unrideable. I am forever grateful that I was able to get it fixed and restored. So many folks who saw me on my ride were enamored and wanted to even hear about how I came into possession of a restored vintage Schwinn 🥺. Right now I keep living to see more tomorrows and that’s okay.
I love you all, thanks for being here.
Also, if any of you see this and can tell the city I live in from the photos… Hit me up. I really wanna get into biking and make friends! Just know that I am weird and autistic.
