Continued from here.
Yeah, Xever got that all too well. He had very much been the same as Jason was when he was a kid. Though, to be fair Xever had been much younger back then. And the person he attached himself to ended up not being the best in the end. That person had left Xever alone whenever he felt the need to but always came back.
Xever wanted to remain with Jason so he wouldn't be left alone. Cause the kid clearly needed someone to lean on right now. And with how low rung he was with the Foot right now he could maybe get away with not being around for a little longer. So long as kept giving updates all while pretending to gain more ground and money for them. It was the best way to ensure he had something to offer.
"I made a promise didn't I? I wasn't going to leave you. You're...important...to me so I'll take care of you..."
Xever found it hard to be too comforting, he was trying though. Likely trying to say the things he wished others said to him. He almost shuddered somewhat since he was bringing up his own sadness. He reached up a hand to Jason and stroked the boy's scales.

RAPHAEL STILL WASN'T used to being in America, nonetheless was he used to being surrounded by people. Sure, Tokyo was big, and also full of humans, but Shredder's headquarters there were big enough that the mutant had had enough room to himself to entertain himself long enough. In New York, though, this warehouse-lair-hideout ( whatever his father wanted to call it ) was so much smaller, had so much LESS room, and there were too many Foot Ninjas around for him to feel comfortable. This place SUCKED...but it's not like he could say anything to Shredder about that.
THOUGH, HE COULD do what Karai always did and head out on patrol, which is exactly what he did, just to get the hell out of that cramped building and out into the city. And that's exactly what he did, grabbing his gear in case he bumped into any trouble and simply slipping out through a window before Shredder could realize he was gone.
ONCE HE GOT to the roof, he sucked in a breath and let out a soft relieved sigh, taking a second to look over the city and admire the view. The moment didn't last, though, when he heard a noise from behind. Fearing he'd been caught, he whipped around, but let out a silent sigh of relief when he saw who it was.
" OH. XEVER. HELLO. Didn't realize you were out here too -- did I interrupt anything ? "
CLOSED STARTER. | @xeversayfishxace
SOME WEEKS HAD passed since the mutant fly had found himself abruptly THRUSTED out of her home universe and into this foreign one. She had been staying with Xever throughout all of it since…well, where else was she meant to go ? This version of New York was, as she discovered, pretty UNLIKE hers; she wouldn’t even know where to begin to seek shelter. Not that Superfly minded; for what it was worth, the fish mutant’s company was more appreciated than she had admittedly expected. The two at least had enough in common that finding things to talk about wasn’t an issue — even if the fly confessedly still acted cagey when it came to discussing her history, mostly as far as her FAMILY was concerned. Evidently, her rage towards them still burned brightly, and she stubbornly refused to get into details, as if to spite those that she had deemed so UNGRATEFUL for all she had done.
It was no matter; obviously she wasn’t wanted in her old world, whereas she at least had company in this one. Maybe this was why she wound up here; maybe the multiverse simply decided that she belonged more here than she did there. In any case, for a moment, Superfly had convinced himself that he could get used to this new world, and with it, a new life.
Well…as EMBARRASSING as it was…HE COULDN’T. Eventually — INEVITABLY — the gravity of the situation began to set in, with a realization that it wasn’t like his family could just come to him, nor he with them, if either party chose to confess that they had been wrong. He was in a whole different world…if he remained here, he would never see them again. And it was that…PESKY, ANNOYING thought that caused Superfly’s resentment towards them to melt into homesickness and a longing that he had felt like any other. It was then that he resolved that it no longer mattered; getting along or not, he needed to GO HOME.
Initially, the fly mutant hadn’t really delved into the details of such feelings with Xever. She…wasn’t sure how to, if she were being honest; in her mind, there was no way to approach this that didn’t make her feel like a jerk. The guy had welcomed her with open arms, helped provide shelter for her, opened up to her about various subjects…it felt a little wrong to suddenly turn around and say that she wanted to LEAVE. Even if he didn’t take it the wrong way, it just didn’t sit right with her. But the alternative would’ve been to start working on her little project behind his back, and well…by the time she completed the blueprint, she realized that that would be objectively worse. Given her lack of resources to actually make what she was aiming for, Xever would definitely find out eventually. It seemed like a really crappy idea to let him find out the hard way.
So here she is, blueprint laid out where the fish mutant can see it plainly. The page depicts a brace of sorts intended to wrap around one’s arm, and the notes make it plainly clear that it’s supposed to be a dimension-hopping device. “ Honestly, I still don’t even know if I can make it, “ she says, as though to try and ease any potential disappointment there may be. Truthfully, while she doesn’t doubt her abilities, multiversal travel is ECCENTRIC enough that she would not be surprised if she couldn’t produce it.
The fly releases a small sigh. “ Look, I don’t want you t’ take this the wrong way. Y’know, I’m— GRATEFUL for what you’ve done for me. I really am. But…I need to get back to my family. “ He adds in a mutter, “ Much as they’ve PISSED ME OFF, I don’t think bein’ a whole UNIVERSE away from ‘em is how I wanna leave things… “

@xeversayfishxace♥️'d for a starter
“….i thought the pool was closed.” As if being caught trespassing in some locked up indoor pool is his biggest problem right now. He's a giant manta mutant who- was singing his heart out.

Minion had NEVER met another talking fish before -- for the longest time, he'd always tried to make friends with the dish Megamind would put in his tank for him, but usually, nothing ever really came out of it, and those fish wound up being eaten in the end. But who knew, all he needed to do was go to another city for something for his Sir, and finally. There it was.
Staring the other robotic fish down, Minion's brow lifted in confusion, and he hesitantly offered a little wave.
" H...hello- man, if I knew there was another robo-fish out there, I would've come here sooner, heh-heh. "
