Thinking about tragic XDHD where GeorgeeeHD is the true god of chaos and calamity, but after causing one too many disasters that nearly throw the entire world out of balance, it’s determined that HD’s power needs to be contained. DreamXD, being his complement, takes the responsibility upon himself, hoping that perhaps HD may be more receptive to him than any others given the nature of their relationship. It may not work, it may cause them damage irreparable, XD knows. But he believes in HD, believes in them, so it’s a risk he’s willing to take.
Unfortunately, that risk is underestimated. HD’s outrage and betrayal send quakes through the Overworld. The land cracks. Seas split. Weather roars. Rapidly, their world is tearing apart, and still, XD cannot bear any harm befalling his love. In desperation, wreaked by despair, XD places HD into a magic-enforced slumber, locking him and his power away to lay dormant within the Overworld.
In dormancy, his life force remains imbued in the fabric of the realm, just barely enough to sustain its existence. Without him to perform chaos and calamity, however, the world risks continued imbalance. Guilt, heartbreak, and responsibility weigh heavy on XD’s soul. Thus leads him to infamy among the new generations of mortals as the god of chaos, taking on the mantle once his lover’s to preserve the world they had together called their home.
But though he bears the title, XD knows there’s only so much power he holds. There’s only so much he can hide behind a mask. There’s only so much that he is. There is also so much that he is not. And what he is not is the true chaos god, the one who lies in wait for a new day to come to pass.
