When the hunters retreated, their memories wiped off of the encounter in the Faerie, it was a face similar to his own that greeted Dream, in a world that looked more like a dream than the greenest pasture.
“XD.” The one sharing his face introduced. It was weird looking at himself with ears just a bit longer and hair just a shade lighter. It was jarring to see wings that didn’t belong.
“You saved the Faerie and in exchange, I was able to see how your kind lives. I will admit, perhaps I was too harsh in my judgment. There is something admirable about your kind.”
“O, wingless one, should you wish, I offer you a road home, back to your kind. Of course, if you would like to stay, I will respect that decision too.”
With a decision dawning in the horizon, Dream smiled, knowing the exact choice to make.
