Profile and model of the Martin XB-16 (model 145A). It was designed to meet the United States Army Air Corps request for a bomber that could carry 2,500 lb (1,100 kg) of bombs 5,000 mi (8,000 km; 4,300 nmi). It would have been powered by four Allison V-1710 liquid-cooled reciprocating V-engines. It was cancelled due to not being fast enough.

Refinement and evolution of the Martin XB-16 (Model 145). It was ordered at the sametime as the Boeing XB-15. Ultimately it was cancelled for same reason as the XB-15, it was not fast enough to meet the requirements set by the Army Air Corps.
