LISTEN GUYS this is one of the best fucking things ive ever played and im appalled that a lot of ppl havent heard of it?

with those we love alive is a twine game that is... really hard to describe, honestly. its like playable dissociation? in a good way tho. you play as a woman who serves as an artificer to the horrifying skull empress. occasionally she wants you to make something, a weapon or an accessory, or theres an event or festival, but usually you are confined to the monotonous everyday life of this nightmare world. theres rat children and sentient dead people and distilled dreams that you can drink. in the city, laundry and drying meat hang side by side and dead bodies are dumped into a flooded canal, nobody batting an eye at it. 

if the environment werent enough, the way porpentine (creator if this fantastic game) describes it is truly an experience. her imagery is creepy as all fuck but also beautiful in that horrifying way that bleached bones are pretty. 

also the character u play as is a trans woman and shes Amazing
