I finished 23rd officially, which is my first time finishing outside the top 20 in sudoku in 10 years. The punishing mistake from round 7 cost me 4 spots, making it the most random and unbalanced WSC I can remember competing in.

We did the team rounds for Day 2 to end the competition. For the first one, we had to solve silently with only a shared piece a paper to share among us for linked cells. There were 6 of them for each of us to do. My teammates hopefully got 2 each but I got at least 3 and possibly 4 of them.

The last round was one with 4 layered jigsaw sudokus (3 layers total). We hopefully solved 2 sets as they were quite difficult for me to visualize.

This was the last round and had a large variety of sudokus. I broke one of the mid ones but solved the 2 hardest. However, I likely wasted a lot of time and as such, if the ones I think I solved, I’ll get 390 out of 800 points.

Results came back in Round 10 and I ended up getting a guess wrong, which gave me 200 points out of 400. I stayed about the same at 24th officially (and 30th unofficially). After round 7, officially, I was tied for 25th.

These were connected sudokus by different size pyramids. It was 40 mins for 300 points and I think I solved them all with just over 12 minutes left. If all correct, I would get 420 out of 300 points.

This was a harder classic round with 12 classics worth 400 points over 40 minutes. I had to guess a lot but feel like I eventually pushed through and solved the first 8 which if all correct is worth 225 points.

This team round was 9 sudokus that 6 puzzle pieces to complete them. It took awhile to get one and we likely solved 4 of them total.

Results for Round 5 came out and although my 50/50 guess was correct, I did much worse than the field and dropped to 28th overall unofficially.

Edit: Results for Round 6 follower and I got what I thought correct and went up to 27th overall unofficially.

This was the first team round. We had 10 interconnected sudokus with mastermind clues being the connectors. We broke it about 10 mins in and started again, but eventually solved it with just over 6 minutes remaining (out of 45).

This round had 5 interconnected sudokus with 3 3x3 connected on each. It was 50 minutes to solve for 400 points. Not only did I finish, I managed to finish ahead of most of the competitors, with just over 32 minutes left!
