Since I've already done this, I'll just be posting up my answers to wrongend's post, without adding more questions of my own.
1.     If you were to match your personality with an animal, what would it be?
Hmmm, that’s a toughie, because the thing that immediately comes to mind is a cat, but then I start to wonder if that’s just because I live with them. This also does nothing to help my reputation of being a crazy cat lady. But to be honest, cats try to act cool when really they’re embarrassed all the time about when they screw things up. They’re terrified of everything and often on edge (they’re always on their toes!) and moody as hell. I’m pretty sure I exhibit the smugness they do occasionally.
2. Â Who would you want to meet if you could meet any real person, dead or alive? What would you ask/tell them?
I’ve always wanted to meet my grandmother on my father’s side. She passed away when she was very young, but she seemed like quite a character. She was an opera-singer, an occasional cross-dresser (for her performances), and a loving mother. I feel like I would have been very close to her if she were alive today. I don’t know what I’d ask her besides “Can you tell me everything ever?” It’d be nice just to spend an afternoon with her, hoping that she’d share some of her wisdom with me.
3. Â What tidbit of your childhood do you wish you could bring back?
I miss when my house was cold and had heating grates on the floors. They’ve since been replaced with more a more efficient heating system, but during school winter breaks in elementary school, I could just spend the day sitting on top of one of the grates, wrapped in a blanket, and reading a book. There are several substantial chunks that I miss about my childhood, but that’s definitely a tidbit I wish I could bring back, heheh.
4.  Your life so far is made into a movie. What’s on the poster?
There’s water everywhere. Probably an ocean view. It’s one of the transitional times of day, either dawn or dusk, but you can’t tell if the sun is rising or setting. There’s a seaside cliff with a lighthouse on it, and a rowboat in the water, but you can’t tell if it’s rowing away or towards it… And in the rowboat… is probably a cat with opposable thumbs wearing water wings, a fedora, and rollerblades.
5.  You’re bored with no work to do and all recreational electronic devices are off limits. What do you do to pass the time for a week?
Read, of course! I could get through so many books in that time (and still not enough)! And I honestly don’t mind re-reading books multiple times. I could also make a lot of progress on my sewing projects (which will hopefully be up on my Sherlock blog soon ;D)
6. Â Which program(s) besides your browser and music player do you use most on your computer?
Funnily enough (or maybe it’s not that strange), Notepad and Word. I really like writing down notes and random thoughts while browsing the Internet, and I usually have at least one or the other open with a bunch of memos to myself, and responses to things I read or see online. I guess it’s not that odd, really. They’ve pretty much just replaced IRL notepads and post-it notes for me.
7. Â What foods will you not touch?
Haha, that’s a tough one. I am pretty good with sampling almost anything. At one point I swore I would never eat sea cucumbers because the first time I tried it was miserable, but I even gave that a second (and third) chance. I didn’t regret it, actually. Oh! One thing I won’t touch is shark fin soup. It’s a favorite of my parents’, and I try to dissuade them from eating it because of the whole, you know, shark torture thing. It’s pretentious of me, I know, and plenty of other food gets treated the same or worse, but for some reason shark fins just get to me. I don’t even particularly like sharks, but I refuse to eat shark fin.
8. Â Tomorrow goes exactly as planned; what will you be doing?
I will get up at nine and go with my brother and mother (who has a day off from work) to fix an administrative issue at a local community college so my brother can sign up for summer classes (college bureaucracy, I swear…). Then I will probably come back, eat lunch with my family. My mom and I will probably then go shopping for most of the afternoon. If everything goes exactly as planned, I will find the perfect (very belated) birthday gift for my best friend, a fedora identical to the one James wears in Third Star (with the nifty little sidebow!), some cheap flats to replace the ones that are falling apart and held together with superglue, a nice blazer, and maybe some new summer clothes if I find any other inspiration tonight. After that, I’ll come back, probably work on studying Spanish, get and look at some secondary applications for school, panic a bit, and get started on those. My dad also wanted to test-drive some cars, so we’ll probably do that. After that, we’ll finish up some leftovers for dinner, I’ll find a way of finding the Community episodes that I’m missing, catch up with those, watch and laugh at Amnesia playthroughs, perhaps finish up The Hound of Baskervilles, and go to sleep. Haha that enough planning? But now that I’ve answered this question, I have to finish everything else so I can post this tonight so I have something to compare my actual day to!
edit: And of course I'd have to spend some time on Tumblr. What day would be complete without that? If everything went perfectly as planned, I wouldn't spent more than... an hour or so on it? But.... I can make no guarantees.
9.  What’s the most fun you’ve had in the span of two days?
I tend to be really pessimistic about the things I’ve done, so this question is tough for me, especially when I have to think of two fun days in a row. I remember fun in very very short bursts, and have difficulty stringing them together. This could also be due to my very, very poor memory for places I’ve been and interactions I’ve had with people. I don’t think I can answer this question without making stuff up to fill in the gaps (either intentionally or unintentionally), but I’ll try. Lemme think for a bit…I can remember two really fun days I had while vacationing with my family in Hawaii! We stayed in a hotel in Waikiki, by the beach, and pretty much went down there every day. One time, we just went down and boogie-boarded the whole day. The feeling of finally catching a wave and riding it all the way to shore after trying to hours was amazing. I don’t know if it was the day after, but on the same vacation, we went to another beach and rented a kayak. My brother and I then spent the entire afternoon kayaking and chasing sea turtles (rather pathetically, I might add; I’m pretty sure they were just taunting and mocking us the whole time). It was a really gorgeous day, and it was really nice to just let loose and enjoy the moment, away from electronics and other things that were typical of home.
10. Â If you could live in any TV/movie universe, where would you want to live?
I have to choose very, very, very wisely for this one. It’s easy to choose universes of my favorite TV shows, or superhero universes, but chances are I’m more likely to end up a civilian than anything else and then be at the mercy of supervillains and collateral damage (or Sherlock’s deduction scan thing if I’d be “lucky” enough to meet him, haha). Oh dude. Duh. *slaps forehead* I don’t think I’d mind being in the universe of LoK at all. Either I could be a badass and bend the elements, or I could be a badass and use TECHNOLOGY which seems to be in the heat of development at this point in the universe, which is super exciting! And because I’d be in a kids’ show, I’d never die, unless it was an important development in character background or plot. And, given that I’m very unlikely to be tied to any of the characters in the show, that would mean I would never die during the span of the show! So yay.
11. Â What traditions/routines do you try to keep?
My family isn’t very strict on keeping tradition, I’m a lot more superstitious than I like to believe (and much more so than either of my parents). Now that it’s summer, routines are pretty much out the window… One thing I brought back from college, though, is the urge to walk everywhere. I try to get out of the house as much as I can (you know you live in Tumblr when you make that sound like an achievement), and I’ll walk places that I would normally drive to nowadays. I’ve been cleaning the pool as well, and hope to make swimming a regular part of my day. Haha, don’t know what other routines I keep up with that no one else does… I brush my teeth every day? Try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables? Just trying to stay healthy!
