Oh my gosh I've wanted to get into Washington University ever since I visited it back last year. If you don't mind my asking, what was your GPA? I'm just trying not to freak out about if mine is high enough.
4.11 weighted. I forgot what my unweighted was, but I don't think it really matters as long as it's over 3.6? I wouldn't freak out over numbers. You've done what you can and you can't really change it after the fact! Have a positive mindset and write a good essay (:
I'M GOING TO WASH U THIS YEAR TOO OTHER ANON(S)!!! AHHHHH
how do you like wustl? i'm thinking of applying!
I really like it here! Here’s a quick pros/cons:
Pros
The programs fit very well with my academic and career goals.
It’s also very easy to switch between majors and even schools/colleges (ex: business school to engineering school etc; I’ve switched schools twice and majors thrice).
The environment is laid-back rather than cut-throat, unlike most similarly rigorous schools.
Cons
A smaller student body means less diverse activities and smaller groups/clubs in general.
Not enough school-wide events (IMO); there are more events for specific schools and events put on by student groups, but few events that are planned for the whole student body.
Hard transition from high school, but that isn’t really unique to WUSTL, just a personal experience.
I’m sure there’s more but that’s all that came to mind rn. (:

been feeling kind of paranoid lately
Take that time by yourself to get to know yourself and rediscover what makes you shine. Don’t surrender yourself to waiting, and don’t stay isolated for too long, because there’s a beautiful you the world is dying to meet.Â

hi, I'm the anon from before! regarding cross referencing in digital textbooks- do professors cross reference often? I also tend to highlight books, so with that in mind what would you say is more convenient (digital vs print)?
I know this is vague, but it really does depend on the professor and the nature of the class. I find it very uncomfortable to write directly on textbooks (probably conditioning from high school…), so I prefer annotating digitally on my tablet (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with a stylus). Sometimes I also print out textbook pages to further annotate. But it depends on your learning style.
If you like print textbooks, go for it! I believe that the majority of students use print/physical textbooks. You definitely don’t need to bring textbooks to class, so I suppose it’s not too much of an inconvenience. Just keep in mind when you want to lug your books around to study at the library!
Another note on textbooks: In freshman year (when I was pre-med and took a lot of science courses), I used textbooks a lot more. But now, as a Marketing/Computer Science major, notes in class are sufficient, and I don’t actually buy any of the textbooks.
hi! i'm gonna be a freshman at wustl this fall and i was wondering whether students preferred etextbooks or most used traditional print textbooks? I was also wondering what some dorm necessities are?? thank you for your help!
Okay, first about textbooks: Don’t buy textbooks before you’re sure you need them! And the best thing to do is to find a friend (or more!) who’s in the same class and share textbooks, that’s the cheapest way. There are pros and cons to both digital and print textbooks. I prefer digital textbooks because I can lug around all my textbooks in my tablet. However, it IS less convenient to read, as you can’t cross reference multiple pages.
As for dorm necessities: Shower caddies, two sets of sheets, mini-fridge, . If you have a roommate, I suggest earplugs or headphones and a sleeping mask. Otherwise, just pack up what you use most at home.
Hope this helps!

Can you explain the Masters in Customer Analytics program? How did you enter as a third-year undergrad? How's the workload?
Yeah of course! So the Master of Science in Customer Analytics is one of the newest SMPs (Specialized Masters Programs) in the Olin Business School. The others include MAcc (Master of Accounting) and MSF (Master of Science in Finance). You can read more about them here.
You can apply to be in a SMP as an undergraduate, and if you are an Olin Business School student, you won’t have to take the GED, pay the application fee, or pay extra tuition on top of undergrad (unless you take an extra semester to complete the program, which is likely).
Next semester will be my first semester taking Masters courses, but yes, it’s a heavy workload on top of my two other majors. Although, I am considering dropping my major in Marketing and just pursuing a Computer Science degree for my Bachelor’s.
Hope that helped!
