Wreckreation 2 announced for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC - Gematsu
When Tides Turn, a newly-founded studio formed by Criterion Games co-founder Fiona Sperry, has announced Wreckreation 2, the open-world arcade racing game sequel to 2025’s Wreckreation. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.
“Over the last six months we’ve been talking directly to players about what they want from a modern arcade driving game, and Wreckreation 2 is the result of those conversations,” said When Tides Turn studio head Fiona Sperry, in a press release. “From handling and progression to events and world design, our community has already helped shape key aspects of the experience. We’re building this game with the players, not just for them.”

There's a huge amount of fun to be had tearing up the countryside in Wreckreation's open-world aggressive racer.
While Wreckreation still needs work to get the remaining kinks out, there's still a hugely entertaining racer once you get used to the fact that there's no reasonable way to expect Burnout Paradise-levels of polish. It's the kind of game you can spend half a day listing its flaws and the other half having a great time playing, bashing opponents into scrap metal while seeing what kind of trouble you can find or create. Wreckreation shoots for the stars and doesn't quite make it, but it's hard to complain when drifting a mountain road's switchback at two hundred miles per hour or building a series of ramps up a mountain just because you can.
