I love that you love him so much! It’s wonderful that there’s cute fanart of him and how awkward he is after years and years of not having any fanstuff of him because of extremely limited character development.

there is! there is development there! you just have to look and piece it together yourself so just like his puzzles he plays with in manga’s canon, it’s a bit of a fight to get there LIKE

CANONICALLY, FOR WHAT WE KNOW: 

Aeleus [pre-fall]:  - Ansem’s favorite pupil - was a pupil in general, not just a guard - the last to fall [the ‘stoic’ one being the hardest to have fall to darkness] - body placed between Ienzo and where the threat would’ve been - doubled as a groundskeeper in RG

Lexaeus:  - Only Trusts Zexion - willing to help those lower than him [Roxas] though he lacks the heart to really take caution with it [re: the backhand]. It was an attempt tHELP him, he didn’t just whack him around for hte fuck of it; it was to make sure he knew how to limitbreak. It was to ASSIST. - died when he charged ahead to try to eliminate a threat before it got to Zexion - fucking apologized as he died to Zexion for not being strong enough - is able to shut Vexen up by saying “Don’t” - is envious of Riku’s connection to the darkness because it gave him the strength he desired (to protect? idk this part is me wingin it, not straight out canon)

Aeleus [recompletion]: - sticks to Ienzo like glue - has face journeys rather than speaks [his shy side coming out] - STILL super struggles with the light/dark aspect of everything, and finds beauty/comfort in both so he’s emotionally torn between the two

Where did you get these subs? I've been meaning to re-watch den-o but I don't want to deal with TV Nihon. Also, yes, this scene legit made me cry because this was exactly what he didn't want to happen.

Hahaha I love how excited you are!!! I agree with everything you say and I’m so glad that there’s more content about hin. I remembered fangirling him all the way in my little corner of CoM only world and everyone else was up in arms about axel and zexion and larxene and I’m like, but there’s this other dude in the basement who seems really cool and interesting about how he relates to the darkness… And everyone is like, oh that meathead?

those who dwindle him down to “oh, the big/ugly/meathead one?” are weak and will not survive the winter

I love apprentice!aeleus. I was a little disappointed when they retconned the more beefy/fight-oriented members to be guards because I thought the idea of having really smart but physically strong characters was super cool. But this is also cool!

i like to think they’re still apprentices, they just had a stronger lead towards Protect so they broke away from Hard Science but are still 100% capable of participating and helping with the science side of things-- they’re just not as technologically/scientifically ‘advanced’ as the others

that .5 little slip and their desire to fight/protect/guard pushed them to the doors.
