Yesterday was World Environment Day 🌏🍃 and I think that is something should take a minute to acknowledge. I think it’s important for us all to think about the environment, what the earth does for us, all the other beings we share our planet with, and what we can do for the earth. 🌱 I think there are several simple things we can all do to ensure the future of this beautiful planet. * Eat less animal products - animal agriculture can be a very energy and resource intensive industry. * Plant a veggie garden or fruit trees - you will save emissions from farming and transporting your food, and gardening gives you a greater sense of the energy that goes in to producing food. * Use less plastic - opt for products that are naked, in glass or cardboard. Shop at bulk food stores and use reusable produce and shopping bags. Use and bring your own containers, cups and straws when out. Make your own cosmetics and personal products. * Be mindful of the origins of the food and products you consume. Often products must travel many kilometres before reaching us, purchase the most local products when you can to reduce food miles. Buying local also supports the local economy. * Take public transport, carpool or walk when you can - reducing your use of vehicles means less emissions from fossil fuels. * Purchase your clothing second or buy natural fibres - fashion can be a resource intensive industry that uses harsh chemicals. * Buy less, chose quality and make things last! #worldenvironmentday2019 (at Tongariro, New Zealand) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByW6T6GJFiS/?igshid=1pm2ugi7rurht
