Kiddo and I disagree on this whole mood, regularly. She's 12, 7th grade, very revenge-y age. 🖤 She's often told me that I have only sad, instead of mad - as in, someone wrongs me, and instead of getting BIG MAD ANGRY AT THEM.... I feel, "how sad that they're in a place where that's the choices they'd make..." And truth: I probably should become more comfortable with being angry. It's often justified and valid. But, my natural settings just... don't get mad very often, or easily? So there's nothing in my heart that ever craves revenge. I don't care if they "get what's coming to them." Someone wronging me, even multiple times, isn't their whole person. I hope only that they learn. Change. Grow. Stop hurting people. Because that whole "hurt people, HURT people," is cliché, yet true af. Happy people don't purposely destroy things. Being mad, carrying grudges, being bitter? That literally only hurts you, and those who love you. It does zero to hurt those you're angry at. And when you're a Loyd, angry person, sharing spiteful words and mockery of others... Well, it isn't making THEM look bad, it's a reflection on you, and your own character and maturity. The opposite of love isn't hate... hate is still passion, feelings, thinking about them. The better mood is indifference.
