HELP?!
Okay, serious computer/writing question:
My computer came with WordPad as the default alternative to word. Previously I had Word (don’t have it right now, not paying for it when I really don’t need it and it’s fucking expensive as shit) and on my mac I had TextEdit. Both of those worked with rich text to copy and paste with formatting.
WordPad does not.
I am having a major problem because my italicized words are no longer as such when I copy and paste them to upload my fics. I just had to re-italicize the correct words in over 3k of writing to post a chapter to AO3 and S&C.
Does anyone know of an alternative program I can use to stop this problem from happening? I need to fix this ASAP so I can actually write and not have to spend however much extra time redoing everything to have the formatting I initially planned. Also, I do not want to write in html. I hate programming, I hate having code in my writing (in the actual hard file on my computer) so please do not suggest that. Thanks!!!!

Can you please just make your default font Times New Roman?Â
Yes, I understand it's not NEARLY as exciting as Helvetica or some shit like that, but here's the thing:
All my teachers like Times New Roman.
So does MLA.
I kinda do, too, when it comes to official stuff.
So please, get together and make that decision.
Because one day, some sorry kid is going to forgot to change the font and turn in a report typed in Courier New or whatever, and he's going to fail. And that's not cool, Word Processing Programs.
