I don’t really need a suggestion... I’ve just got a sort of question. My name is Valerie. And it’s WAY too feminine for me. It feels clunky and weird and WRONG. I used to go by “Val” which is fine for my old friends and family to continue calling me. But it still feels separate from who I am. I’ve asked a few people to call me “V” and I’ve found I really like it. I just need affirmation that going by a letter isn’t weird. And that it can be my name. Also, in case I ever want to change my actual name... any suggestions for a middle name to go with V? (Or heck, even gender neutral names that start with V that I can think about) ? Sorry this ask is so long and weird. Thanks for your time!!
I definitely think it’s okay to have a letter name!
It’s actually not totally uncommon either. There’s lots of letter names like with J/Jay/Jae, B/Bee/Bea, K/Kay, Z/Ze, etc. Some letters definitely work better than others but V can definitely work!
For some V neutral names: Vale, Valen, Valor, Vace or Vas, Vesper, Vetiver
For some middle names that work with V: Payson, Blake, Tristan, Greyson, Carter, Finley, Peyton, Kylin, Micah, Shiloh, Emery/Emerson, Remy
Hope this helps!
