a door is opened, and alice steps in. barefoot. she looks around, a deorated empty space. she does not recognize this place, it is not a memory, it is not alice's. this is someone else's. their own wonderland, what a curious place. hands run along the fabric of a table. she recognizes the things scattered along the floor as balloons, green eyes shifting around. a stage. the carpet old and wasted.
alice turns once she hears movement.
a girl. someone she doesn't know. this isn't alice's imagination. she must be asleep. dreaming. it worked, she managed to reach someone. her voice cut. scared to say something, she isn't a doctor. and it's overwhelming. her eyes pierce the girl, she approaches, slowly.
"..."
her eyes dart. from her hands to her gaze. filled with something. desperation, helplessness. and a serious air surrounds her. it is serious. to alice, a first meeting, a first impression. suddenly aware of how dr. bumby is right, she is unprepared, the outside world is unprepared for her. she will not last a day. she no longer belongs there. alice you must speak! for if you don't you shall die, die like the others! the voice is clear. and she straightens her back.
"hello." it comes out of her mouth, and she doesn't really hear it. she feels it. alice, mind your manners. she clears her throat.
