Chuuya! Again!

I really wanted to do a picture of Chuuya and I remembered I don't need to make up clothing folds and stuff when I can just look up reference from one of the stage plays!

(Pretty sure this is from Stormbringer. And no those are not the actors eyes, I made up the face. Mostly. The eyes and nose are the most different from the original. I used a combination of imagination, stylization, at least three different references, along with lighting reference from the original, even going so far as to look up tutorials on skin rendering)

Having stage plays of these things is Amazing. For all the poor artists out there who don't know how to draw trenchcoats, inverness coats, suit jackets, or can't find specific hair reference... (all of these apply to me btw) It is wonderful!

Also cosplay.

Those are great for reference too.

I have yet to decide whether I like this picture or not.

I can at least say I put in a ton of effort.

Colour is... difficult. This is a lighting/colour study, I wanted to try doing something without using line art, and I mostly managed it.

Also- this is the most shading I've ever done on a face. I do not normally render the skin, due to... well, inexperience really.

However, I wish to remedy that so that was partly what this was for. It was originally just supposed to be hair and clothing folds practice, but it got a bit further than that.

This is also the start of my forcing myself to practice using colour and shading. Since I haven't had a lot of practice and I have a lot I want to improve on.

Yeah.

I am hoping I can look at this a few months from now and go, 'HA I can draw so much better now!'

But currently I think it looks pretty good.

I feel like I’ve experienced it all and even now when i get a different or even old sensation, I still get freaked.

Current mental health update is more or less the same. I’ve had a few better days-yay- but still mostly housebound. I am either home or with my mum who lives close by. I have managed to go out three times to the shops once I was able to actually go inside and grab a catalogue but the other times  U had to stay in the car. I tried to enter one shopping centre on Tuesday and as I go to the doors...

Really thinking it’s by large agoraphobia,.

 I’ve been able to get back into some of my old habits/interests again which I could not get into before like being on the computer, watching TV
