The battle of hogwarts is won and after six months in Azkaban Theo, Draco, and Goyle were acquitted of all charges and given freedom. However, Lucius Malfoy, Cantankerous Nott , and other high ranking death eaters are still on the run.

  After nearly being killed, Theo apparates to none other than the doorstep or Harry Potter in hopes that the chosen one can help keep him alive for just a little bit longer .

Today’s @wolfstarmicrofic​ for the word saltwater. 

Sirius had loved the ocean. The roll of the waves, the sprinkle of saltwater that dried on sunhot skin, the taste of the sea. At night, in bed, he’d used to tell Remus about his dream of a cottage on the coast, only the two of them and the sea.

But that was before Azkaban. 

Twelve years of cold winds and stormy waves, the salt that settled like fine dust everywhere. It got stuck in his hair, on his clothes, under his nails. It rubbed against his skin, chafed and burned. It leaked from his eyes, salty tears that dried on his cheeks. 

Even after he was freed he could still feel it. He would take long, scolding hot showers but no matter how much he scrubbed he didn’t feel clean. 

When Remus had found them the cottage, on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, he’d panicked. He holed himself up inside, hid away from the wind and the sun and the smell and sound of the sea. 

“I can’t do it, Moony,” he whispered against Remus’ skin at night. “I’m afraid it’ll drown me.”

Remus carded his fingers through Sirius’ hair, touches light but comforting, grounding. 

“You can,” Remus assured him. “You used to love the ocean, and I won’t let them take that from you.”

Remus was nothing if not persistent. He had endless patience when it came to coaxing Sirius out of the house, down towards the beach, a little further every time. And underneath the watchful eyes of his lover, the gentle touches and small encouragements, Sirius grew bolder. It was easier as Padfoot, the dog remembering the joy of chasing waves, of tumbling in the sand, of running as fast as he could along the beach. Little by little, Sirius reclaimed a part of himself that he thought was lost forever.

Now, a year to the day since they had moved in, they sit on the porch of the cottage, the sea stretching out in front of them. Remus is leaning against the wall, legs spread, Sirius nestled between them. 

After a particularly rough full moon Sirius let’s Remus sleep and he goes to get Harry ready for the day. Sirius being too lazy to find a matching outfit for 3 year old Harry and just giving him one of his band shirts to wear. Remus waking up and seeing Harry in a shirt that is way too big for him, but looking adorable in it. Sirius grinning from eye to eye as he watches them.

They both become godparents to Harry...

They take him overnight so Lily and James can go out...

Remus makes sure he is fed and clean..

Sirius makes sure he is cuddled and has listened to adequate amounts of rock music...

Remus has a particularly bad moon where he gets away and almost hurts someone..

Remus tries to convince everyone hes a monster and convince Sirius that they shouldn’t be together, he may hurt him..

Sirius responds by tracking him down, getting on one knee and asking him to marry him...

Remus says yes...

They get married with Lily and James at their side and a sweet Harry holding their hands..

Sirius promises to protect Remus in all ways and Remus promises to be Sirius’ balance...

Sirius becomes Sirius Lupin and sheds his family name...

One day Sirius comes home to find Remus on the couch crying...

Remus tells Sirius they got a little girl, the adoption agency just called...

They go and see her...

They name her Ava, which means life...

They bring home this sweet little ball of curly blonde hair and freckled cheeks...
