I’m allowed to beat my fists against the ground. It wasn’t joy or wonder when I opened my eyes as a new vampire, Magnus. It was terror. Terror that I was DEAD. DAMNED. Like the devil himself, bound to wander the earth to and fro. Bound to repeat the mistakes I’d already made. Bound to seek and search for the love I’d lost.

All I ever wanted was to be loved. All I ever wanted was a witness to my existence. And how could I know that crossing that stage would catch your eye? That your fascination, no, your obsession, would pour into me the elixir of life.

But life at the cost of everything that made me Lestat.

Now, instead of being your wolfkiller, I’m just a killer…The boy who stood on that stage died all the same.
