Sexuality: I’ve identified for years as pan, but lately i’ve been exposed to the perspectives of a wider range of people and come to realize that “pan” has transphobic connotations/is a term coined in reaction to biphobic stereotypes, which makes me uncomfortable. For this reason lately I lean towards describing myself as bi, and i’d also like to apologize if i’ve inadvertently caused anyone hurt by calling myself pan while i was ignorant

Current Wallpaper: on my phone? my lockscreen is an old photo of my mom and her dad, from the eighties, taken outside a bodega somewhere in chicago, which i treasure because my mom hates and has always hated having her picture taken, so i have almost no photos of her, and especially none of her when she was young. aaand my wallpaper is a black and white photo of my two best friends across the table from me in a shitty, shitty mexican restaurant in nashua, nh. not pictured is me or my third best friend, sitting on my side of the table. these are two of my favorite pictures

Have you ever had a crush on a teacher? Not really. i had not-crush on one of my engineering teachers. i had him for two years and my friend at the time had a massive, full blown crush on him so after class i would like, report back on all the things he did that were cute or funny. so it was like, a vicarious crush

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? There are a ton of places I’d love to travel to, but right now since I miss my friends from home and haven’t been able to visit even though I said i would, I think it would be nice to fly home for a few days and see everyone and come back out to Washington after. I want to see all my friends and their bands who can’t afford to come to seattle to tour etc. there's a bunch of songs that i miss every day

Favorite shoes? My favorite shoes have holes in the soles now. honest to god holes all the way through, I wore them for two years, they were comfy and cute and now i need a new pair. they were tan breckelles

Stupidest thing I’ve ever done? Oh god. I’ve been a stupid bitch my whole fucking life so idk there’s shit that i’m surprised in retrospect didn’t get me murdered and ACTUALLY:

i discovered some really cool shit digging around, because the first answer that occurred to me when i read this question was, “uhh, maybe wandering around alone in the wee hours of the morning in a part of my hometown where i had been told people had been murdered, dismembered and stuffed in barrels to be discovered in the morning” 

but i was thinking about it and i never heard any basis for this story actually being true. the only person i heard it from was my mom, who has been known to exaggerate and straight up lie in order to manipulate me. but i thought about it and that story is a bit much, like, pretty gruesome even for my mom, so i started googling, looking for news stories and stuff like that from before 2001, and the public police records. 

there was literally only one murder in weare in recent history and it wasn’t until 2011, plus it was a murder/suicide and took place in a different part of town. 

so i looked even further and apparently the story is TRUE holy shit if you dig into the digitized records from the state vital records office, in the 1800s a guy named Russell Hinds really was killed, cut in to pieces, etc and found the next day, all the details match, years before the flood in the thirties destroyed east weare (which is the Ghostly, No Longer Extant part of town that was my stomping ground) 

but i think what happened is that my mom, who’s from california, was asking the neighbors when we moved there in ‘99 if there was any kind of crime she had to worry about, and my 70 year old neighbor told her that story because it was the biggest news my town had like, ever seen and probably to emphasize how little crime there is, but she misunderstood him, maybe in part because of his accent was the strongest new hampshire accent i’ve ever heard in my life

anyways that’s what growing up in a small-ass town means for real n knowing that i really probably wasn’t in any danger out there except from like, bears 

Disney is… kind of despicable. I’m not talking Marvel acquisition or responding to any celebrity allegations (though the chick that played Cara Dune on Mandalorian def deserved to be disciplined— her posts really invited negative attention).

But think with me.

Aladdin. The magic carpet ride song. The one that’s about losing your virginity. Yes, that’s the one. The vague veiling lyrics are pretty see-through.

Every moment red letter

Besides being one of the most commonly and continuously misused lyrics in the history of bad karaoke, this is just… a preposterous lyric.

Breaking it down, the phrase’s current denotation isn’t so bad: Every moment is memorable. I want to keep it in my mind. Write it down in my teenage journal and memorize it back so I can repeat it on command…

Maybe that’s taking it a little far. But maybe not, considering the phrase’s connotation and the manner in which it entered the lexicon. “Every moment red letter” refers to a style of Bible called a red letter Bible, where every word Jesus spoke is printed in red. It’s supposed to be easier to skim for “import” information and choose passages to memorize.

So… yeah, your average teenager princess in a Muslim country would definitely be singing about how she wants to remember her tryst with her secret boyfriend, in the same manner that a different people (a few centuries ahead, at least) would go about remembering the sage words of their teacher. Because that makes so much sense. And if your hard-on isn’t drooping by now, well. I guess Disney maybe made their point, after all.

My favorite Disney film is Ralph Breaks the Internet. That one was impressive. Most of the other stuff, new or old, I find disappointing if not outright problematic.

- Not all people are Christian (gasp) so not all people should have to follow the laws of the Bible.

- Being a rude ass to people who don't follow the Bibles laws would be hypocritical, considering the bible says to be kind to all people (Matt 22:39). It says to love your neighbor as yourself. No restrictions apply. No "love your neighbor as yourself, unless..." or "love your neighbor as yourself, except if they are ___". So discriminating against homosexual people in any way (including not allowing them to get married) is disobeying what the Bible says. (1 John 4:11)

- Much like Christians are supposed to love everybody, God is also supposed to love everybody. The Bible even refers to him several times as The God of Love, or even say things like "God is love" (1 John 4:8). So churches (I'm thinking of the Westboro Baptist Church) holding up signs that say things like "God hates f***" blatantly disregards one of Gods main qualities and gives other Christians a bad name.

- Even if you are a homosexual in a Christian community, you should still be accepted. No one can completely follow all of Gods laws, as that would be expecting too much and God understands that we are imperfect. 

I would like to bring up one thing: in a lot of posts relating to the Bible and homosexuality, people bring up the fact that the Bible also says you aren't supposed to eat shrimp either or something along those lines. I didn't bring this one up in my reasoning because that law is actually part of the Mosaic Law, which was abolished after the Ransom Sacrifice. (I don't remember the exact scripture for this one, but I do remember learning about it in church).
