Can someone explain me what mogai is? 😭
MOGAI is an acronym that stands for Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Intersex. It’s an alternative to saying LGBT(QIA+)/queer/all the other terms. MOGII is another variation of it that you might see, where the first I stands for identities instead of alignments.
Some people prefer it because it’s already inclusive and doesn’t need more letters added to it. It hasn’t caught on as much as other terms though.
what does "imoga" stand for? ive been seeing a fair amount of people using it but im not sure what it stands for because i assume its mogai rearranged but that doesn't seem quite right
IMOGA: intersex and marginalized orientations and gender alignments; intersex, marginalized orientations and gender alignments; intersex, marginalized orientations, and gender alignments; intersex and marginalized orientations, and gender alignments.
It’s MOGAI but some prefer IMOGA over MOGAI. I’m also seeing MOGMI more recently, which uses gender modalities instead of gender alignments, which was the purpose of “alignments” instead of “identities” from MOGII (precursor of MOGAI).
Below the cut I discuss/explain issues.
Can't explain how meaningful it is to see a "pronouns" field added to the contact form on the official White House website. ❤️
