 Talking with @anarchymorty thought this: An AU where Eddie and Dan were roomates while they were both in college. Naturally they start falling into a dinamic where Dan is the one reminding Eddie his responsabilities, to stop going out and procrastinate because he had to work, while Eddie reminds Dan that relaxing won’t kill him and not to tutor (for free) to absolutely everyone who asks for his help, because then he will burn himself out and don’t have time for his own studies.  They become friends, but since the journalism career lasts a lot less than medicine, Eddie goes out to do his journalist work while Dan keeps trying to be a doctor and keep messaging for some time for eventually lose all contact with their own lifes. In this AU there is no Anne to get Eddie into the dirty laundry of Life Foundations, so Eddie only knows about it when he is asked by one of the doctor to enter there at night and reunite evidence to convict the owner. At his point Eddie is still a well respected and admired journalist, but as soon Venom enters his body he is just completely unable to keep doing his work and after a press conference where Eddie end up making a scene, he is fired.  So he is desperate, and doesn’t know what to do, that thing keeps talking to him until he finally resolves go search for Dan himself. Maybe he can do something about it, maybe it can go away and he can get his job back! So they do the testing and Eddie doesn’t cuestion why they must do it in secrecy because he doesn’t have any money to pay for any service anyway, without realizing Dan is trying to help but also just want to be alone with him and Venom mocking him about him realizing doesn’t do anything else for Eddie except make him believe the alien is playing a prank on him. Come on, as if Dan would actually look at him that way. Maybe before the sleepless night, the insomnia for stress, the bags under his eyes and the sweat, before being fired and portrayed as a national laughing stock for one tiny mental breakdown, maybe, but not now. Dan is right there, throwing hints after hints, taking any chance to touch him and Eddie can feel that Venom likes that, that the son of a bitch even purrs, and he has to remind himself Dan is just friendly, just the good old Dan as always. The events of the movie happens, EXCEPT at the end Dan presents on the house of Eddie and, after talking a little, he asks “you know, that kiss thing was an idea of the both of us. I didn’t thought Venom would be up for it, but he was on board as soon I suggested it. Did he ever mentioned that?” and Venom from the inside “kiss him now, you pussy!” and when Eddie, trying to make sense of things, doesn’t do it, he has to control him to do it and when he start pouring from the mouth of Eddie, letting his longer tongue feel Dan’s mouth, he just smiles. “I knew you were there!”  And they live in happy threesome.
