Simple Protection Enchantment

Before beginning the spell, take a few moments to meditate and focus your energy. Place the sage in a circle around your candle. Once you are ready to begin the spell, light your candle. Sit in front of it and view the flame. Recall that fire gives life, warmth, and safety. Let it fill you emotionally, resonating through your body and aura. Place the rings on your fingers and hold them near the candle flame. If there is a movement to do with your hands that feels right to you (prayer position, circling, reiki, mudras, etc.) do that. Otherwise, just let soft flame warm your hands. Imagine the light sinking into the metal. The gold, strength, and warmth of the fire becomes one with the rings. Once you feel satisfied, remove the rings from your fingers and place them on top of the sage leaves. Remain for a moment or two. Then gently blow out the candle and give a silent or hushed thank you to the flame. Leave the rings to charge on the sage leaves through the day or overnight before wearing.

Adaptions if you have other ingredients: can carve protection sigils into the candle, annoint essential oils, add clear quartz or onyx in the circle with your sage

Oh, I am ALL about making substitutions where necessary for these powders. The recipes are created using my own personal herb stores, which are pretty vast after 10 years, and I have a number of online shops where I can find what I need if I don’t already have it.

But that’s ME, and not every witch can get their hands on stuff like Dried Hawthorn Berries or Powdered Carrageen at a moment’s notice.

Most of my powder recipes will work just as well, or very nearly, with substitutions made. There are very few ingredients that I find hard to substitute, but it’s usually something that’s heavy-duty or very specialized, like Angelica, Bloodroot, Dogbane, Solomon’s Seal, or Cascara Segrada. These can still be replaced with other herbs if you don’t have them on hand, it’s just that I can’t guarantee the mix will work as effectively.

(Can’t really guarantee that they’ll work effectively anyway, because you can’t guarantee witchcraft will work exactly the way you expect, but that’s another discussion for another day.)

I highly recommend checking your local supermarket spice aisle and produce section for materials. Garden shops may also carry inexpensive sprouts of some herbs and spices during spring and summer, and these can be clipped and dried, or planted for future use, depending on what kind of space you have.

An Undertale inspired spell, for nerds like me that need a boost of determination and motivation to help them. This is my first ever spell, so I hope it works for you, and that other baby witches find it as an easy starter spell! ^u^

What to do:

Put moon water in a bowl, cauldron or other easily accessible bowl-like container

Use a wand or a wand-like tool to circle the bowl/cauldron/container three times anti-clockwise, and then two times clockwise, and then flick the wand at the water.

As you start circling, say:

“Banishment of procrastination,

I call on Magick to aid me in refusing temptation,

And to instead fill me with motivation,

In hopes that my efforts will bring fruition,

And like Frisk give me with determination,

Enough to save or slay a nation,

So mote it be.” 

Put down the wand, and wet your finger in the water

Using your fingers, anoint your temple, eyelids, and hands with the water, or soak a talisman/sigil/item in the water to charge it.

Optional: Cast on the crescent moon, if you follow lunar cycles

Optional: If you’re not Undertale trash like I am, and you just want a simple motivation/determination spell, you can remove:

And like Frisk give me determination, Enough to save or slay a nation,

Optional: Replace “Magick” with any deity/god/goddess that you follow

If you have extra, you can bottle and refrigerate it, and then just use the water anytime you need motivation.
