I have never in my life seen such a massive amount of hypocrites all gathered in one place spinning in endless circles. The same people who preach about the freedom of expression and following your heart turn around and close off segments of various practices and ideals depending on what they decide to be greedy of. So much shaming in comment sections and high handed superiority complexes as if they personally own concepts and ideas. No one can 100% prove anything belongs to anyone.
Unless you have undeniable and tangible proof of the first time a concept/spell/idea/tool/haircut/even earrings (for fucks sake, earrings, EARRINGS? Is this what weāre divided over?) was ever used and unless you can prove with 100% certainty it wasnāt used before that on a different part of the globe, then you own nothing. Iām in the field of history. Trust me, without proof, everything is a theory and approximation. Nothing is true until proven 100% true. Without this kind of backing to a claim there will always be opposition and comment sections turn into mini civil wars.
Whatās the point in fighting for the freedom to believe in something when once you have it you turn around and strip someone elseās? Putting someone down to build yourself up is morally wrong and closing off things to certain people cause ātheyāre yoursā doesnāt make you the defender of all you believe in, it just makes you the same dick that closed off things from you in the past. Be better people and donāt carry on doing to others what has been done to you because you should know better. Everyone does this, not just one specific practice but quite a few.
Excuse my rant but especially in our community we should seriously stop being so petty. This is causing divides that benefit no one and is ruining all that this place could be- somewhere where, finally, witches of all practices wonāt be persecuted.
I already anticipate the hate this will get but Iād like to think Iām not the only one who feels this way. Iāve personally not seen any post addressing this so I felt it needed to be said. I donāt mean to start a hate comment flood but Iām entitled to my opinion just like you all are entitled to yours.
