Week 3&4

This time, it’s going to be like a diary thing. Because I don’t have any idea to make another fiction story. So here is my week 3&4 looks like

Actually I don’t even remember what happened in these 2 weeks, so I can recall by seeing my friends blog. They said that there is event called Inspirasean. So basicallly it’s an event held by Asia Pacific University (APU) and the purpose of this event is playing but also studying at the same time. We studied about cultures in Asia, but we are into the South East Asia part. Those University student came from many parts of Asia. Some of them are from Japan, Korea, China, Philipines, and Indonesia too. They teach a lot of things related to Asia. They also give us some games. The fun game that i remembered was we were divided into groups and we were given some pastas, bread, tape, and also string. We were supposed to build a tower. We win if we make the highest amongst other groups. In the end, we didn’t win. Overall, those people are nice and fun to play or talk with.

The next week, we learn about wish and hope. That time, we have to make a little display that shows our wish and hope for whenever you want it to be happen. So I make that little display. “I hope to be a pilot” is written on my little display. Then my teacher hang my display and also my friend’s on the wall.

This time I’m going to make a story (sort of) , it may be more than 1 chapter. This story was made by a student who tried to make a story. This story contains cliche, and love story, and cliche and something intersting. (Maybe) . She hope this story will work out for her english class

Once there’s a girl who really wants to be a writter, and also singer at the same time. She worked hard on those two different things. She wrote her story wheneever she got an idea, and those idea came from anywhere, even from the ant that walks on the walls. And she sings everyday, everytime, and everywhere. She has the most beautiful voice that her frieds ever heard. It’s just she’s not really confident about her talent. Every time someone busted her singing or writting her story, she usually just ran and go somewhere where people don’t know. Which is in front of the swimming pool. Only one person who know about all of the talents that she got. Only her best friend. This talented girl name is Aileen.

One day Aileen was writting her story in her favorite place, where she could hear the splash of water. She felt so relax, so she could probably have so many ideas to write on her book. She usually humming while writing, and it’s just made her getting more relax, and made lots of ideas out fro her brain and ready to write. When she was writting, suddenly she thought about something about her story.

“When this story done, I hope I can publish this.” She told herself. Suddenly her only best friend Ashlyn came, and she heard what Aileen tolld herself.

“Well publish it, I can’t wait to read it” Ashlyn told her best friend.

“That’s the thing, Ashlyn. I’m not so confident about this. And you know that right?” Ashlyn nodded. When Aslynn was about to say something, someone said it before her. And it’s not Aileen. It’s boy’s voice.

“Well, I also wish that your story and your voice will be known by all of the people” Aileen and Ashlyn were shocked.

Here comes again, 3rd week on Tuesday. Same thing having the same subjects as usual.  Boring physics in the morning. Sometimes I don’t get what the teacher told me. Not only about the materials but the teacher also make me confused. I have to stay on that class for 80 minutes. LONG 80 MINUTES. Finally I moved on to the next class, which is Chemistry. Chemistry’s quite fun actually (well not really). When I’m not in the mood i might not understande that the teacher said.

Chemistry started at 9 and ends at 10.20. Not quite long for 80 minutes because I sort of enjoyed it, even sometimes I didn’t get it. Finally 80 minutes in Chemistry finished, and SNACK TIME!! The best time i’ve ever had. I can do anything I want, I can eat because i’m VERY (VERY! Mark that) HUNGRY. I can’t stand it anymore. Maybe I can’t pay attention on chemistry because I’m hungry.

Snack time was so fast, I felt that snack time just started. And now it’s just ended? Not fair. But at least I’m going to have english class. Well, english class is better than other classes. Not only because the subject wuite fun, but the teacher also fun too.

Now, English class started. This day I learnt about wish and hope. At first I thought wish and hope  are the same. But it have different meaning. In some way they’re the different. Wish more like something that...well we can say as unrealistic. Like for example ‘I wish I could marry Tom Felton’. I know it’s unrealistic :’( but i wish it happens, he just so handsome i don’t know why (fangirling mode on). Well back to topic, you also can say that wish indicates negative meaning, but it’s not always negative. Wish also can be use for greeting cards. Like, Wish you all the best or anything else. And hope, hope more like indicates positive statement. Mostly hope use for something realistic.

Hello again to another blog post of mine. This time I will tell about my 3rd and 4th week of my school which I can barely remember... so that's that. Anyway like usual this blog will cover my daily activity, what I have learned those weeks in my English class. So LETS GET STARTED!

Week 3 & 4

Like I was saying I can barely remember what I did that week. So I'm just gonna guess that we grade 11 have this event called INSPIRASEAN. What is INSPIRASEAN? Basically  its an event that held by the university of Asia Pacific in japan to teach about culture in Asia especially in South east Asia or ASEAN Countries. There were many students of APU (Asia Pacific University) that join this event and they teach us about many things trough fun games. Because each group randomized within each games we get to bond with student that we may not know very well at first and know we get to know each other better. It was fun because APU Students were so friendly, nice, and fun to talk to. Even though some of them cant speak English or Indonesian.

By that week we are also learning about wish and hope, which related to our future goals so we have a task to make a little display about what I want to achieve or my wish/hope. FYI I really want to be a professional architect and I hope I can achieve that someday. So I made a little display about just that.

We learned about wish and hope in the 3rd and 4th weeks of our english lesson. I thought that wish and hope are the same, but it’s actually two different things. We expressed hope as, “I hope I can…”, whilst wish with, “I wish I could…”

Seeing from its phrases, which I always use to remember the difference between two, you could see that they use different tenses. Now I’m going to tell and explain what I’ve learnt about how to express hopes and wishes in english class.

First thing first, as you can see, we use past tense for wish and present for hope. We use past tenses like “could”, “would”, etc to express something that’s least likely or even unlikely to happen. We use it for things that are impossible, like for example, “I wish I could fly.”

On the other hand, hope is used to express something that will most likely happen in real life. It’s usually used to tell our dreams, and things we expect to happen in the future. E.g. “I hope to become a doctor.”

After we learned about how to express it grammatically correct and understand the difference between two, we were told to make a display about our wish and hope. Well, in this case, I wrote about what I hope to happen, mostly the good things about my future, such as: - I hope to graduate with good grades. - I hope to enter UNPAD or UI with medical major.

I also wished for things I really wanted to happen, but are impossible or the chances are almost zero, like: - I wish I had 2 years of holiday. - I wish I could fly.
