quick headcanon but given the significance of the godess's harp(being a sacred instrument played by hylia, sun and sky) i like to think that most zeldas actually do play the harp tho with varying levels of skill and enjoyment with a few exceptions
first exception is tetra who didnt even know she was a zelda until WW and i really dont see she getting any interest in the harp anytime soon
second exception is phantom because 1:if tetra didnt know how to play the harp there is no way for her to pass that tradition ownards onto ST and i dont think the godess harp made it to new hyrule
and the third exception is Dawn because she was 8 years old when her parents were murdered and thus has no one to teach her(tho i can totally see the other zeldas teaching her the harp later)
a somewhat serious wisdomverse character alignment chart. more thoughts below the cut.
(art/icon credits go to @/linderosse. tap image for better quality)
upper left quadrant (shoots the dog, wants to):
Echo: In the past, Echo probably would’ve fallen somewhere farther right, but after her 100+ year nap, she’s fallen into a pattern of self-destructive rage. She desperately wants to shoot the dog. The only thing holding her back is her love for Dawn and Hyrule, and the faded memories she has of home.
Artemis: Like Dusk, is bound by duty and would and has sacrifice much for her people. She’s also balanced in a precarious political state in a power-hungry court. Has a lot pent up rage, but ultimately wants to do good.
lower left quadrant (shoots the dog, does not want to)
Dusk: Bound by duty and her love for her Kingdom. If it’s the safest and most logical choice. She really does not want to shoot the dog, but she’s already given so much for her people. What’s one thing more?
Lullaby: It does not matter if she wants to shoot the dog. If shooting the dog will give her information she needs or further her goals, she will likely shoot the dog. The only reason she’s not fully there is because, like Echo, others people tend to influence her actions. More than she thinks they do.
upper right quadrant (wants to shoot the dog, doesn’t)
Dot: She’s sweet on the surface but has a vindictive eldritch side. On some level, she’s the executioner and has that sense of justice in her Wisdom. Ultimately doesn’t shoot the dog though because she chooses joy. (Also, wait long enough and the dog will eventually die on its own. Patience is key :))
Tetra: Lowkey curious about what would happen if she would shoot the dog. But I feel she’s not the type for needless violence? Theft and kidnapping, and if a person deserves it, sure, but living on such open, dangerous waters has cemented that she is not judge, jury, and executioner. The sea will get them first. Besides, killing for sport is likely to cause a lot more problems than it’s worth.
lower right quadrant (would not shoot the dog, doesn’t want to)
Flora: She’s already suffered through so much violence: her father, her friends, Link. At one point in her life, she would have shot the dog out of reluctant obligation. As it stands now, she chooses happiness.
Fable: Does not want to shoot the dog because she’s lowkey squeamish. While she is great at navigating through debates and court, and that requires some sort of cunning on her part, she also holds great empathy and understanding. She broke through to Hilda with her words alone. That’s enough.
Dawn: It’s Dawn. Does not want to inflict suffering, would not commit violence.
Phantom: While she’s strong and a bit of a freak (sorry Phantom you ain’t escaping the allegations), she falls more into a protector role. Would kill the dog if she has to, but if there is choice not to, she will try and dazzle. Also similar to Fable she’s a bit squeamish lol.
middle of the chart
Sun: She who contains multitudes. Sun knows the grooves of Time itself well; the dog must eventually be shot. If she’s the one to shoot it, she will carry that guilt for the rest of her life. But she’s also a leader of her community and, on some level, once a Warrior Goddess who took up arms. She’s also just a woman trying to live her life. Lots of implications with her.
In your mer AU i can totally see spirit tracks link being obsessed with the 1910 Canadian Pacific Railway Locomotive No. 694 crash
he lives in a sunken train rather than ship XD
HE WOULD!!! I don't think he even needs to be a mer for that to happen XD I now need to look it up...
Unfortunately I haven't gotten that far with his game (*cough* I'm way too easily distracted *cough*) so I didn't get far enough to spark a lot of ideas for both him and Phantom. I do want him to be moving though and with a job, a sunken train wouldn't give him that opportunity sadly. As a throwaway concept: it would be fun if I made him and Phantom actual ghosts, just cruising along the bottom of the sea with their ghost ship. Or he could be a mer that is helping with construction of underwater train railways? I want him to Too BusyTM to deal with all the mer drama in any case XD
Phantom could be, just like Tetra, a landdweller. A princess of a country that has incredibly good relationships with the merfolk. Or a girl of noble blood that attained Hylia's blessing that tied her to the merfolk despite not being a mer herself. Perhaps this blessing is what kept her spirit in the world instead of her straight up dying. Maybe Malladus is some kind of terrorist group trying to sabotage the underwater railroad system? (Ah but, why would the mers agree to have such large scale construction happening in their territory?)
(I need to think more about the world building before i say any more...)
Thank you for the idea! I now have a new documentary to put in the background as I draw!

OK, I made a silly little comment of @linderosse phantom reclaiming their body from the blue Demon King. I have forgotten the name of already (no that’s not Gannon for anyone who is wondering)
I am so tempted to make phantom and spirit kissing (with that one base) though I want Lin give me the thumbs up before I draw her ST zelink kiss with the funny base
(And I just want to get this out of my system, even though I know Phantom is stronger with her armour on, I can definitely imagine her having noticeable muscles without it)
(There’s a stepladder item in Zelda 1, but Spirit and Phantom don’t need none of that 😆)

Yes! Some of them can! Assuming no cheating (Four, Legend, and Hyrule can’t shrink, etc)…
— Tetra can lift Wind. Pirates are strong.
— Lullaby is definitely a stealth type, but she’s deceptively strong as well. She could probably lift Time if he wasn’t wearing his armor from the war. But that stuff is heavy. With it, she probably can’t.
— Same for Artemis, except it’s a bit easier.
— Echo is physically the strongest Zelda. She can pick up and lift rocks in her home game (which takes Legend an item to achieve), and can move boulders of solid rock that are as tall as she is. If Silent was around, she could lift and throw him. (Also, shoutout to this cute and relevant artwork and subsequent analysis of why Echo is terrifyingly strong by @mobgabriel! Exactly what I was thinking!)
— Ever since Malladus buffed Phantom’s body, Phantom has been able to lift Spirit. With her armor on, she can straight-up toss him, and probably has done so :)
