Seems that fingernails double as a “crumple zone” upon impact. I accidentally jammed my poor pinky into the gear shift. I can still love my finger, but it’s super sore. I guess I’ll wrap it tonight to control swelling. Only 4 months until #guard. Just been released! Still need to do a couple more physical therapy sessions, then, of course, continue my exercises and stretches. She said my finger will be sore and stiff for another 3 to 6 months, but she’s happy with my progress! Yay! Guard season starts in December! Will I do rifle again? How to straighten a bent finger. After healing of the break & dislocation, I can bend it a little more, but now the finger won’t straighten. So I get to wear this spring splint for 30 minutes, 4 times/day. It looks like it’s nothing, but oh WOW! My finger will be straight after I take it off. But I won’t be able to bend it. So then I’ll have to do my exercises to bend it. Back and forth. It is annoying, but I’ll do whatever is necessary to heal my finger.
