Wow - 2026! I haven’t posted since a Halloween recap?? Wild. Let’s get back to this space. I tend to update here more often when I’m making health/fitness efforts for myself and I’m trying to do that yet again lately. Ya girl gained a few lbs over the holidays and it’s time to switch gears.
December brought yet another hospital remission for poor Derrick - he ended up with a central line infection. Readmitted for ~3 weeks with a discharge date of 12/23. Home just in time for Santa.
Christmas was fantastic - having the four of us home together was the best gift we could have received honestly. The kids got new beds - they are stoked and D is sleeping really well in his. It’s hard to believe he’s such a big boy now. The baby is gone. He’s learning to speak in little sentences now and says “I love you” ALL the time.
D was also readmitted for another stem cell infusion from January 8-10. Luckily for us it was a short visit. Right now we’re in an in-between zone. It’s too early to tell if the stem cells “worked” the way we need them to so for now we’re sitting tight and enjoying the time home together. Every single day is such a gift. It doesn’t ever get old for me. At least not right now.
While we’re home, we’re now going to outpatient visits for D once a week (which used to be twice a week - so that’s a big milestone). Otherwise I’m able to work remotely every day pretty much while my mother-in-law handles childcare (when it’s reliable, but that’s another topic). WFH means I’m getting in walks on the treadmill during the week. That single habit really turns my whole day around. That, and drinking as much damn coffee as I please.
Holden turned 5 this month! It’s hard to believe and awesome to watch him grow. He’s starting to read.
We’ve gotten plenty of snow this winter so far and are slated of course to get ~18” tomorrow. We’re getting groceries today and otherwise are hunkering down. The kids sleds and snow suits are ready. Stay safe, friends. ❄️

Winter Writing Update II
Hey guys and welcome back to the second Winter Writing Update and the last one for 2024! There's quite a bit to cover in such a short period of time as this is also the last day of my winter vacation, so let's get started! :)
First, the thief who stole from the princess' jewelry box is officially finished. Writing Raymond Amber's chapter was one heck of a challenge, but I did it. On the same day I got a notification that this blog had reached 100k likes and 5.5k subscribers.
What. The. Heck.
Definitely took a lot of self-control to not do any too drastic and freak out the other patrons in the cafe area of my local bookstore because I truly did not expect that this would happen, yet it did. Major shout-out to all my readers and fellow moots, for being so supportive in my 2024 writing journey. This year alone I wrote 35 stand-alones [imagines, scenarios, holiday pieces], 4 completed miniseries with 2 of them currently on hiatus.
But it isn't just the number of works that have made 2024 a strong writing year for me; I have learned how to pace myself, that I am writing for fun and I am not getting paid to write the content I create since I already work full-time. Scheduling fics that are already completed has been a major game-changer, definitely lowered the stress of trying to post content every weekend and not freak out about not having anything else for the rest of the month.
Reading books has been a crucial part of my writing process. If I'm not reading consistently, then I know the quality of my writing is going to regress. I'm quite proud that I've read 23 books in 2024, so do I have any TBR goals for 2025? Not really, I'll see what happens. These stats don't include the manhwa and manga I read because that list is way too long lol.
My writing goals for 2025 are to try and expand in different fandoms, try to write more originals works, and finish the yandere! sung jinwoo with kim dokja!reader mini series that I am collaborating on with the incredibly talented @circeyoru. For those who keep asking, yes part five is in progress. Please be patient as we alternate writing the chapters and editing them.
If anyone is interested in reading an AU series of the thief who stole from the princess' jewelry box where our MC is sent back in time to prevent her sister Ariana from ascending the throne with her Jewels, please let me know. This series will be posted on my secondary blog, @an-idyllic-novelist.
I am still taking requests for Dandadan, so feel free to send them over to my inbox. I am up to date on the manga at least to volume 10.
For those who may or may not know, the final writing challenge of 2024 was voted was to write 5k in a day and oh my goodness, I did it. Definitely took a lot out of me, but totally worth it.
What are some of your writing goals for 2025? What would you like to see more of on this blog?
I'd love to see a snowflake emoji in the comments to send some good vibes as we move towards 2025, but if you don't want to, no pressure, and thanks for being here and I hope to see you all on the next newsletter.
Bye bye!

AESPA Winter (250911 Instagram Update)
AESPA Winter at Good Morning America (250912)
The Justice League International
if they were dti baddies
Guess who's my favorite according to how I dressed them lol
I´ve been dying to finish this for a while but as soon as the winter update dropped and I was finals free, I decided to tweak them a little :)
also I know a lot are missing (like Mister Miracle), might do them later.
Pale garden update ideas:
- The creaking's animation froze when you look at it instead of it returning to a default pose.
- A block created from something creaking that emits a redstone signal when it is looked at.
- Thick fog effects, emissive textures cut through the fog.
- Ability to use shears on the pale moss to remove the creeping sides, and/or bonemeal to grow it.
- blindness/darkness cause creaking to attack no matter what.
- a way to manually despawn the creaking and a way to make it persistent.
