"Reflections"
Random capture delivered to me on a late night run through the USPS parking lot & the stars & streetlights aligned with that odd autumnal leaf stuck to my window... I just love rainy windshield shots in all their reflective glory! But I never thought I'd find a home for this little bit of photographic strangeness & so I thank you :)
All it does is rain
Seattle 1954, citizens began noticing pits in their windshields. Some thought it was vandals with BB guns before they began to suspect larger conspiracies like cosmic rays or a new Navy radio transmitter. Glass would break on store counters. People began itching, and seeing strange things in the sky. On April 14, police received 4,294 reports of damaged windshields, then the reports abruptly stopped. The outbreak was entirely psychological. After hearing rumors, people went to check their windows and windshields and found flaws they overlooked before, and sometimes glass breaks, but under the circumstances of their heightened fear, each instance was given greater importance and scrutiny. It was a textbook case of collective delusion.
