wip of sugar daddy hockey tom au but when he comes home leno is sick :(
Tom didn’t want to wake them, but he couldn’t help but lean down and kiss them both. Leno was curled on his side, face smooshed against Dylan’s shoulder. Tom frowned at his flushed cheeks; he felt one with the back of his hand.
Leno didn’t move, but Dylan stirred beside him and his eyes fluttered open.
“Hey,” he said, voice quiet and sleepy. Tom smiled and pulled his hand away from Leno to kiss Dylan on the cheek.
“Hey,” he said back. “I saw the note. Is Leno okay?”
Yawning, Dylan stretched his arms over his head before touching Leno’s forehead gently. “He had the chills earlier. He’s still pretty warm.”
Tom didn’t like the sound of that. Leno’s finals were coming up in the next week, and he had been studying profusely, sometimes staying at his campus library until well into the early morning. Tom wasn’t even sure he’d eaten on most days besides unhealthy amounts of coffee. Now it appeared he was getting sick.
“Do we have medicine and stuff? I can go out and grab some.” Tom looked at Leno, reaching over Dylan to feel his cheeks again.
“Let’s see how he feels in the morning,” Dylan said quietly. “I can always ride out early and get some things. Go get ready for bed, you have practice early tomorrow, don’t you?”
Tom did, but he was worried about Leno. It was only 10:30 at night, he could go to a nearby Walgreens or something, grab a few things. Just in case. He was still dressed after all.
“I’ll be back soon.” He leaned down to give a quick kiss to Dylan’s sleepy lips before heading out.
When Tom came back, Leno was up, but hunched over the toilet with Dylan beside him rubbing his back.
“Shit,” Tom said, standing in the doorway. Dylan looked up at him with concerned eyes. “It’s bad?”
“I’ll bring the stuff up.”
Tom had struggled a bit at the store, but ended up grabbing everything he could think of. Gatorade, ginger ale, cleaning supplies, and a pack of pedialyte at the last second. He rushed to set them up now, bringing everything into the master bedroom along with Leno’s favorite blanket from the living room and extras from the closet.
“Shh,” he could hear Dylan cooing from the bathroom, “It’s okay. You’re okay.”
Tom’s heart sunk as Leno continued to retch and sob. He could only stand around awkwardly when Dylan carefully guided him back into the room, tucking him into bed. Tom rushed to empty the waste basket in the bathroom, supplying it with a new trash bag and setting it next to Leno’s side of the bed, just in case.
“I have to,” Leno was in the middle of whining to Dylan when Tom came back with a cool wet rag.
“No,” Dylan said, firm. “You’re staying home. You’re not going anywhere like this.”
“It’s my last week of classes!”
Tom winced. Leno’s voice was wrecked already. He sounded horrible.
Dylan wasn’t budging. “And your professors will understand.”
“Listen to Dylan,” Tom chimed in, joining Dylan on the side of the bed where Leno was curled up and miserable, tears in his eyes, cheeks flushed. He placed the rag on Leno’s forehead, running a hand through his hair gently. Leno tried to look angry up at him, but it only came off as a weak pout.
He mumbled something, but burrowed further into the blankets anyway.
Dylan reached for Tom’s forearm. “I’ll stay in here,” he said softly. “You get some sleep in the guest room.”
