i actually got stuck in the wall in vip and my friend did nothing to save me.
───────── ౨ৎ ─────────
[Mack] call me.
The text is simple enough and it nearly makes Will’s eyes roll.
[Will] I’m supposed to be resting. Doctor’s orders.
He tosses his phone to the side, unpausing the movie he turned on. He’s resting. He’s not moving around. That counts, right?
He makes a face, suddenly remembering that while he is on IR, his friend very much isn’t.
[Will] Wait. Aren’t you supposed to be reviewing game footage or whatever?
Macklin’s response is almost immediate.
[Mack] different time zones, bud. we’re in minnesota.
Will rolls his eyes. He doesn’t respond to the text, but just facetimes Mack instead.
“First of all, you don’t have to be a dick. I’m injured. Hurt. You’re supposed to be nice to me,” Will immediately starts, “Second—”
He doesn’t get to finish what he’s saying as Macklin interrupts him.
“Roblox. Dress to Impress,” Mack says expectantly.
Will stares blankly at him phone.
“You are such an iPad kid,” He says, but he’s already pulling up the app on his own iPad, “I paused 10 Things for this.”
Mack scoffs like it’s the most offensive thing he’s ever heard.
“You like that one,” He says, “I play it for you. And plus, they have a new update. It’s Wicked or something. I don’t know…”
He pulls up the game and confirms that the new update is Wicked themed.
The first few rounds go smoothly. They usually do. Will has VIP and Mack somehow found a way to backflip into the room.
Will’s still not exactly sure how he did that.
Will also isn’t exactly sure how Mack got stuck in the wall after backflipping, but it’s fine. He manages to get out. It only took two minutes this time! Will timed it.
Either way, they do well. The server they’re in is lowkey a farming server where the people still try to dress to theme. They don’t really mind. It’s fun. And they get to rank up.
The whole thing starts to go downhill when the theme becomes Mermaid.
“Oh, shit. We’re going to be great at this,” Mack says. He’s already looking for the tops that he usually layers.
Will can see the way Mack is practically vibrating with excitement as the judging begins.
Pretty much everyone looks the same. There’s only a certain amount of items you can wear for the theme anyway, so it’s not like anyone should mind.
At least, that was the thought process.
After the round was over, they headed over to do the obby, completely oblivious to the way the chat was blowing up.
Mack gave up after the fifth time he fell off of the mascara tube, content to watch Will from the bottom and give unhelpful advice. He begins scrolling through the chat, annoyed by the amount of messages.
One, however, catches his eye.
[sally✫]: yea and that celly girl or whatever totally copied me
i mean my red was in the SAME place
mine looked better tho
Mack purses his lips.
“Will. This kid is saying I copied her,” He says, “She needs to shut her mouth.”
He can practically hear Will’s eye roll.
“It’s just a kid,” He says, giving a tiny little cheer when he finished the obby, “She’s probably just mad that you thought of the same thing — even if you have a total of three choices for the theme.”
There’s no response from Mack, so Will looks down to look for him. He’s not there.
“Shit. Mack, don’t bully anyone. Remember last time you got banned?” He asks.
Mack huffs.
“I’m not bullying. I just want to talk,” He murmurs.
[celly:] so, i actually didn’t copy you.
there’s basically no way to do that theme without using that tail, and i just so happen to like red, so.
Will groans.
“Dude. You’re going to get banned,” He says, but it goes ignored.
[sally✫:] u did tho bc the red was in the same place
and it was the same red
and u were in the same area
Mack scowls at his screen. Will has given up on his stuff and is now watching Mack on Facetime.
[celly:] well i actually wasn’t paying attention to you because i was too busy being better
so yeah
Will rolls his eyes.
“Give it a rest, man,” He says, “It’s not that big of a deal. We’ll just switch servers—”
[sally✫:] well my dad owns roblox so i’m going to get u banned
The two of them freeze.
“She did not just say that,” Mack says, then starts laughing, “No fucking way. Wait, oh my god.”
[celly:] yeah? well, my dad owns a basketball team.
“No, he does not!” Will says, “You can’t just tell people that!”
Mack scoffs.
“Okay, well the kid doesn’t know that!” He says.
[sally✫:] which one?
That makes them pause.
“Well, which one are you going to tell them?” Will asks.
“Uh. The Lakers? That’s like the only one kids know because of LeBron, right?” He says.
Will shrugs.
“I mean, I guess,” He says lamely.
[celly:] the lakers. he knows lebron.
The chat is quiet for a minute and the two boys hold their breath.
[sally✫:] i don’t believe u
Mack scowls
[celly:] #### you actually.
And suddenly he’s no longer in the game.
Mack pauses, mouth wide in disbelief. He scoffs and tosses his iPad to the side.
“Man, whatever,” He grumbles.
Will sighs.
“I told you that you were going to get banned,” He says.
Mack just grunts, and watches Will continue to play.
When judging rolls around, Will gives his stars and quickly logs off when the podium comes up. He grins like he had just done the funniest thing ever.
“…What?” Mack asks.
“I gave her one star,” He says, “She’s going to lose it.”
They both are quiet for a moment before they burst out laughing, practically giggling in sync.
When Mack finally catches his breath, he sees the notification come through. His face drops.
“Will,” He says, his voice now deathly serious. The rapid switch up made the blonde pause.
“What?” He asks.
“Will,” He repeats, “My account got suspended.”
The blonde is quiet for a second.
“Honestly, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner,” He says.
Mack groans.
“You’re supposed to be on my side!” He says.
Will looks at him blankly.
“You just said ‘fuck you’ to a child,” He says, “I don’t sympathize.”
“She deserved it!” Mack says loudly.
The brown haired boy gets startled by a loud knock on the wall.
“Stop bullying kids and go to sleep,” Came a muffled voice from the room next door, “It’s almost midnight.”
Mack looks back at Will on Factime, his eyebrows raised comically high.
“Okay, I need to go now,” He says quietly, “Toff might kill me if I stay on for any much longer.”
Will’s screen goes dark as Mack hangs up. He stares at his reflection and laughs, unpausing his movie.
