The type I chose for type from my everyday life is from a game that I have recently been playing called Persona 5.
The thing that jumps out at me about this gameâs type is how stylized and dynamic it is. The menus especially exhibit this through the different sizes, styles, and colors that are used to make them look interesting.
Normally having sans serif and serif in one word would be frowned upon but I think it works with the wacky nature and themes in the game.
This will definitely influence my future work because it will give me good reference whenever I am working with something that has a wacky or fun theme.
For my music + typography post I chose a poster from one of my favorite bands, Death Cab For Cutie.Â
Whoever designed this poster took an interesting approach to laying it out typographically. They used a simple, yet effective sans serif font but laid out in an interesting way with the letters at the top being separated and sometimes overlapping with the different colored shapes in the background. It is a good way of capturing peopleâs attention to go to their concert.
This will help me in my future work because it will give me some insight on poster design and just capturing peopleâs attention in general with my designs in an interesting way.Â
This web example I found is a photo booth rental website for Vancouver and seems to be using about 3 or 4 typefaces on it. There seems to be two fonts that are used as display fonts and one that is used for text. It is hard to tell if the text is different in the first part with display headings such as âCelebrations & Gatheringsâ and the one beneath it or not but it isnât very distracting. Overall the different use of typefaces on this website arenât really bad but arenât super good either. I feel as if the problem lies in the hierarchy of them and layout of the site. I do think the combination of the fonts was a good choice on the part of the designer. I think this will influence future work of mine in web design in my choices of layout and typeface choices.Â

The museum exhibition I chose for this post is an exhibition from a gallery in New York known as 303 gallery from an artist named Sue Williams. The exhibition happened from September 18 to October 23, 2010  and was called âAl-Qaeda Is The CIAâ. It was an exhibition on some of her paintings and illustrations.
 I think the intended audience for this exhibition is anyone that enjoys illustrations or paintings and would like to admire them.
The way that the graphics or images are arranged in here is very clean and there isnât a lot of things to distract from looking at them.
I think this will be helpful to me and my future work, especially my final project because I am working with illustrations in my catalog and things like this could be a good influence to how I arrange my images.
The book I chose for my catalog is called Blind Field and it was organized by Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavillion at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It is a Catalog for a Photograpy exhibition of various series from different photographers and it is laid out in a very modern way. The book is separated into two distinct parts which are a gallery of all the images and interviews with the photographers.
There are two typefaces used that are both very modernist sans serif fonts but they are used to differentiate the display from body text. In the interviews portion black and a sort of brown color are used to separate the responses and the questions.Â

I think the system in this book will influence my future work because I think there is an interesting layout of images and text that I can take hints from when I am working on this next project and more projects in the future.Â
