Aleida:

*I want LOTS of interesting high-stakes work drama and minimal personal drama! (I feel like Aleida’s central dramas in S1-S4, while work related, were all sort of about losing and then gaining and then losing people close to her in metaphorical and literal ways 😅 Especially Margo, which, look…I LOVED. SO MUCH. But it would be fun to see her in a place where she’s secure in her relationships while, like…dealing with a mountain of crazy and fascinating work shit 😂 I’m sort of envisioning Season 2-era Margo, who — as the leader of a high-profile institution — had people she trusted (Emma, Nelson, Tom 🥺) and seemed at ease with her life, but was always dealing with and having to figure out how to lead through one infuriating main plot situation after another. But we’d get to see how Aleida would lead similarly or entirely differently, and how that might set up her arc beyond S5, and that’s just a very cool prospect).

*I would LOVE if we got to see Aleida reconcile being a big-shot executive (as I imagine she is) with her humble roots. How does she sit with this, and like…does she still remind herself that where she came from, simply having access to running water felt like a privilege? Does she draw inspiration from her parents? Or does she disconnect a bit from her past and then end up reconnecting with it again?

*Because I am me, I want ALL the Rosales-Diaz family screen time I can get (which will surely not be enough). Aleida’s marriage and family unit had better be as solid as they were in S4. I’m really excited to see Aleida’s relationship with her teenage daughter! I think (hope) Graciana will have a real personality like she did last season, and it will be fun to see her interact with her mom. I also kind of head-canon her as queer. Idk why. Maybe because we have barely any queer characters on the show right now? 🥺

Margo:

*The main thing is: I want her in as many episodes as possible. No early dying (Ed on the other hand…) or extended prison sentence beyond 5.01 where she’s tucked out of sight. *I want to see the show revisit her real legacy beyond treason / prison. I like to think that the public, and especially Javi’s generation, might have a different view of her in the S5 era.

*Speaking of this…scene(s) with Javi. PLEASE. I have been highly invested in these two becoming close (again) since the 4.09 tootsie roll scene.

*Some…any…mention and acknowledgment of Sergei.

Other:

*WILL TYLER in a big role! Maybe NASA administrator/head, especially if Aleida is leading Helios?

*I know this is unlikely but BILL needs to come back. A scene with Aleida (there’s never been a scene between them that was not amazing)! A scene with MARGO!

*I think Alex has so much potential to be a nuanced and complicated and interesting character in his own right. I will be disappointed if he just ends up being some kind of heir-apparent to the Ed Baldwin brand of masculinity.

*Can Kelly have an interesting plotline that isn’t just tied to Alex and Ed? Can she still be close with Aleida even though they’re presumably a gazillion miles away? My expectations are low…
