New vi wig just dropped
January 7th 1758 saw the death of poet Allan Ramsay snr.
Born in Leadhills in Lanarkshire, Allan Ramsay began his career as a wig maker. But he also collected and rewrote a large collection of old Scottish songs and ballads which were published in 1724. The following year he published The Gentle Shepherd a pastoral collection which gave a vivid description of rural scenery. This would later form the basis of John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera.
A little known fact is Ramsay invented the term Doric and was a huge influence on Robert Burns and co-founded St Luke’s Academy, Scotland’s first professional training school for artists.
His success in this field encouraged him to open a number of bookseller’s shops and a library at the Luckenbooth in Edinburgh’s High Street, one of the first in Britain. Many of the literary figures of the day would congregate there. He also set up a theatre, which was soon shut down by the religous zealots of the time, and an auction house. He built a house on Castle Hill, beside Edinburgh Castle - at the current location of Ramsay Gardens, named after him the statue of the poetin the second pic, is in West Princes Street Gardens .

Alright Harumi's makeup and hair
So my personal headcanon for her hair is that she had to drink a magic tea that leeched the color but strengthened it
It seems like something that would happen in Ninjago as like a ritual for the Royal family
Her hair was already pretty pale before but it had much warmer undertones and then once she was in the royal family it had cooler undertones
So it definitely had what little color it had stripped out through bleach or magic
As for her hair styles, they mainly use buns and not even really complicated ones, they just seem complicated because they are twisted up and held in place by hair sticks
(As someone who has length waist hair though I can tell you the hardest part of those styles is the tension that puts on your scalp, this is why I headcanon that magic tea because how the tension typically causes hair loss)
.
Her makeup as a princess is a really interesting choice
(definitely the result of not proper studying of the culture and instead just appropriating it because while yes pale skin is more desirable and they would use white face paint in those cultures that was more for entertainers and sex workers)
Her make up is more rooted in chinese culture (same with her clothes, that is not a kimono it's a mix of a hanfu (chinese) and a hanbok (korean))
A pale face made to look more round with blush centered on the cheeks is much more popular in china especially if they had a painted a flower on her forehead (with how much they did the lotus motif I am honestly surprised they didn't)
Now her Quiet One make up/thing?
I'm thinking grease paint
I'm afraid the stuff I got from college has no brand so I can't even recommend it but like whatever that brand is could hold the shape and color through a fight and only need mild touch ups
Like here is some looks I have worn for that class that required a full face scrub to get off and there were still traces
Like I could have probably gone swimming in that and not lost much saturation
So I think she uses a red greasepaint and whatever brush she uses is permanently red for life (jk grease paint stains come out with coconut oil)
Hey so I don’t know if you know this but I do in fact make yarn wigs and here’s my Neil one though with the overalls and stripes I kinda look more like chucky lmao

Ventilating Tutorial - Tailored Swiss lace Doll Head cap using a ventilating needle - Quick Tips:
quick tip 1/4: "Align your lace weave around the head horizontally so your knotted hair will part in a natural way."
quick tip 2/4: "To insure your cap stays in place, make a chin strap with a thread by attaching both sides of the lace together under the chin of your doll. "
quick tip 3/4: "If you plan to ventilate your wig with heat resistant synthetic fibers, you can also use them to sew your cap. Fold one in two and make a first knot, then do a seam with the needle. "
quick tip 4/4: "Ventilating through the 3 layers of lace at the back of the head can be quite tricky and tedious. Instead, sew the top part's edge horizontally and cut the excess lace. Then leave a narrow overlap at the bottom of the cap. "

I hope those can add some details to the original tutorial video about making the tailored doll head cap =^.^=
Have fun Ventilating !
