Hello all Alaris lovers, I have a proposition for you all should this interest you...
Currently, I am putting together the official Alaris artbook, and with all the beautiful fanart we've seen over the years, I thought it'd be fun to include a dedicated fanart section in the book!

If you'd like to submit fanart, please feel free to send it to me via email ([email protected]) or if you're in the Discord server, drop it in the appropriate channel (community events channel). Please include credits with the art if you'd like to be credited!
It should be noted that the artbook will be distributed commercially, so only submit art if you're okay with that! Because I do not have deep pockets, I can't compensate for fanart features---this is purely for fun and to honor the community. However if you end up wanting a copy of the artbook, I can offer a discount to anyone who submits fanart!
All fanart submitted will be featured in the artbook, so don't be afraid about meeting any kind of expectations. Again, this is purely for fun and whimsy and out of love for my kids and the community!

Some of us aren’t strong. We survived because there was no alternative. The only way through was… through.
But it’s okay if we aren’t one of the strong ones. We are still just as valuable and deserving of credit and support for surviving.
(And before anyone comes on here to tell me that I’m wrong and I’m strong, that’s not your place. I’m not strong. And I don’t say that as a bad thing. I’m okay with it and admitting it has allowed me to heal. It isn’t a moral failing to not be strong.)
Just want to say a reminder that I’m not saying trauma survivors as a whole aren’t strong, but that we have a right to decide if we personally consider ourselves strong or not. Every time this turns up in my notes again, I get a comment or ask telling me off.
And to those of us who don’t feel strong, then you deserve to know that’s okay! You’re still valid and worthy of love, support and healing.
Like is it my instinct to think someone else is strong even if they don’t feel it? Yes, absolutely. But as someone on the other side, I don’t think it’s up to me to disagree with their feelings. And for me, what helped me was thinking it’s okay to not be strong rather than convince myself I am strong. Everyone is different though. If this rubs you wrong, then the post isn’t for you.
The fact that “dolls having a tea party” has stuck around in the public consciousness is fascinating to me.
Like, back in the Old Days that would be a way that women would actually socialize. So if a girl had a doll tea party, she was imitating her mom / other contemporary women.
But these days contemporary women don’t have tea parties. So now, the idea of “dolls having a tea party” is an echo of an extinct behavior, only repeated and referenced because it used to be so prevalent.
So a Barbie in a big hat themed for a tea party is a bit like if they made Transformers that turned into stagecoaches and horse-drawn buggies.

I wish we lived in a beautiful world where people did not use things for evil because I wish I could send gifts to people without knowing their address or asking them to doxx themselves. because like. for example sometimes i will be like oh that's a cute guinea pig plushie I wish I could send it to my guinea pig mutual who I've never spoken to or interacted with because I think they'd like it. but I can't do that without being like, hi, I'm a stranger on the internet you've never spoken to, tell me your home address, I want to mail you an object. I just want to be able to hand a box to the post office worker and be like, hello, this is for guineapigmutual, and they will nod and say yep we know exactly who that is and they will take it and mail it and I don't need to ever know the actual address or name or anything. unfortunately things cannot work like this but I can dream
