Oh, goodness. This is very different from riding a horse. Octavo isn't sure where to hold on for stability and settles for putting his hands on Chamuel's shoulders. "Aha... Where are we going?"

First: fic writing for events

The top page/word count is my Sonic the Hedgehog Big Bang fic. First draft is nearly done. I can see the finish line in my outline. Final deadline as a writer is in late May (just two days after my birthday actually).

Second page/word count is my Shakarian Mini-Bang fic. Minimum word count is 5k, so I'm doing pretty good. Probably...oh, halfway through? This one is fighting me a lot less than last year. Deadline to submit for matching with an artist is early May.

But also: doing art for events

I didn't grab file sizes, and it's harder to show progress, but I've got concept sketches for three pieces.

The first file is for a Sonic the Hedgehog Big Bang fic I'm pinch-hitting as an artist on. Deadline for that is early June.

The other two are for the two Dragon Age Big Bang stories I'm doing art for. These are due in mid-May. I'm waiting on approval of the concepts from the writers.

I have...a whole bunch of colored flags in my calendar so I can try to keep all the plates spinning appropriately. Wish me luck!

Last week, on my way to K's college, my car started to vibrate aggressively at highway speeds. It was intermittent, but terrifying. I pulled over the first time to check my tire (which was fine). I made the trip and the return, but scheduled a checkup at the dealership. Something ain't right, here. Got some vexing pushback from my husband, who thought there was just some ice somewhere under there.

I wish that's what it was, but. Nope. Both front 'control bushings' are shot. They can be fixed! next week. For many $$$.
