Seven Fun Food Facts To Save Meat and Wheat
1. Bones and Meat furnish bodybuilding material. Serve baked beans to save meat.
2. Corn syrup is a perfectly wholesome food. It contains glucose which is a wholesome food! (In 1918- not in the 2020s)
3. Oatmeal is "richer" than wheat flour. It contains 7% fat, whereas wheat flour contains 1-3%
4. Graham crackers are made from wheat flour. Oatmeal crackers have a similar taste and save the wheat.
5. Rye approaches bread making qualities more nearly than any other grain.
6. Buckwheat is a different type of grain.
7. Nuts can be used in place of meat. They contain as much fat and body building material, and often more starchy material.
Suggestions for breakfast include cornmeal griddle cakes topped with corn syrup or puffed with bananas and milk. Lunch suggestion is a casserole of hominy, tomatoes and cheese. Also on the lunch menu is stewed prunes and for dinner, cold beef tongue, Belgian baked potatoes, cranberry jelly, mashed rutabaga and tapioca pudding are on the menu.
