The more I think about this line, the more it confuses me.
It's not the only time that Wess says something like "Or so I recall", usually when he talks about King Osohe. I think the intention behind these lines is to make you think "Oh he's forgetting because he's old" the first time you play the game, then once you get to the exposition dump in Chapter 8 you realize "Oh wait, he's not forgetting. He's unsure about his memories because they're fake and possibly reverting". We know for a fact that he never actually met King Osohe for example.
Does this mean that his memory of causing Duster his leg injury is also fake? But that's such a fucked up thing to fabricate. Did Wess think they needed an explanation for Duster's leg and thought having himself be the one who gave him a limp was the way to go? But Duster was trained by Wess, that part isn't fake. So what is the purpose of that line exactly? What am I supposed to make of it?
