I feel like older adults need a lesson on internet literacy. My 50yo aunt is part of the big sister program and she asked me for advice on how to talk to her little sister about the inappropriate youtube videos she was showing my aunt. And like.. I tried telling her about the child safety features of youtube AND about how no a 9 year old really shouldn't be using youtube completely unsupervised
But it was like she didn't get that youtube has inappropriate stuff on it? Like she talked about emailing youtube help services or w/e and reporting the video
But its like, no, there isn't actually anything wrong with a weird animated video about some guy talking about impregnating his step-mom. That's completely within youtube's rules. Youtube isn't a place for children to go unsupervised.

the homie of mine, kirby, who was targeted was posting dms and shit they were getting and i replied to them at one point, not even actually mentioning any of the stuff being discussed, and i got called a lesbophobe-- sorry. lesbiphobe.

and im just so confused because while the accusation makes sense with the whole context of the discourse, the tweet they screenshotted is literally me just calling em self centered because they dm'd kirby that they were disappointed in them before blocking them.
and then their reply is just like.
how does this not make dm'ing someone before blocking them any less self centered. like congrats you explained why you were apparently disappointed. why'd you dm kirby before blocking them, it's so extra and dramatic and for what?
