she was around 10 or 11 when her dad and mum got divorced, and she was initially very against the move to new zealand. she threw one of her biggest tantrums ever - neil and sarah had to send her to time out for the first time in years due to how bad it was.

she's known she was queer since she was quite little. she never really understood why her friends would talk about cute boys in their classes.

her full name is catherine phoebe guthrie, and she was given the middle name phoebe because of neil's interest in ww2 british ships.

her crush on izzy was a surprise to her, she had never really been interested in a femme girl before, her ex was much more masc presenting. she thinks its really cute how into fashion and makeup izzy is.

her relationship with libby has ebbed and flowed throughout their life, but after the jared situation, they became infinitely more comfortable with each other. cat sometimes wakes up from nightmares of jared attacking libby and while libby is still living at home, she will crawl into her sister's bed to sleep with her. when libby moves out for uni, she gives cat a few of her hoodies and an old stuffie to sleep with in place of herself.

when her and izzy were on pause, cat was really sad about it. she genuinely really had feelings for izzy, and she was really angry about how izzy was treating portia.

cat did a ton of research on grief and mental health and anger issues when she realized that izzy was struggling. when she finds out that izzy is seeing a therapist, she starts doing research on the different kind of therapies that are commonly offered to girls their age.

she hates social media with a burning passion lol, but she will do tiktoks with izzy and their friends. however, she absolutely loves pinterest. if she could spend hours on pinterest, she would. she has several boards, and she makes one for her entire friend group. that one tiktok audio that's like, "no i'm not playing on my phone, i'm taking care of business" is her to a tee with pinterest lol.
