lace dress from my first release in raintower's new 'lost lands' collection, which will be online wednesday. when i dream of lost continents i have a sense that their wisdom isn't forgotten, only asleep for us to rekindle. we need this! i worry because it seems believing in something is currently not all that cool. politicians don't have belief systems and ideologies, they simply say or do what will gain votes and money. the same goes for the fashion world - sustainability and ethical production are becoming trendier (in theory) and with them, massive greenwashing and dangerous doublespeak instead of actual change. it's enough to instill apathy in anybody but i believe we should always act as if what we do matters, even if the light of hope and optimism is weak. this way we generate healing energy and fighting energy (both important) together and our actions --will-- matter.
